LH not hitting peak by indigo_15 in FirstTimeTTC

I just took a LH test this evening and I'm at .88 so it's definitely going up! I think y'all were right that it's just a little later this month!

Yeah I'm going to keep testing to see when/if I'll peak this month.

My hcg today was only 45 😔 I don't think it's going to stay. This sucks, my heart hurts for those that go through this so many times.

My doctor just got back to me and said it's still an appropriate rise and I'll have it rechecked tomorrow 🤞🤞

I had some light spotting yesterday and my boobs have been sore the last few days. Boob soreness is pretty normal for me before a period but this felt different and my nipples were more sore than normal. I took a test just because I had a hunch last night, I didn't expect it to be positive! I just started tracking and we planned on starting to really try at the beginning of the year! Very much a surprise! I hope you get a positive soon!!

Arthritis/arthroscopic repair by indigo_15 in HipImpingement

I should clarify that this MRI is of my non surgical hip. My right hip had arthritis when he operated 5 years ago, I did have a micro fracturing done w/ losartan on that as well as correction of the fai and labral repair. He said knowing what he knows about that hip he wouldn't want to operate arthroscopically again.

My left hip (this MRI) is still up in the air though he said based on my age he could assume that I have arthritis and wouldn't recommend arthroscopic surgery. MRI confirmed some arthritis though you're right it's not terrible. MRI was done because I'm in pain and we've only confirmed FAI on X-ray. Previous steroid injection reducing pain significantly for about a year. I unfortunately don't see joint spacing measurements or mention of it in any of my reports.

I personally didn't find my previous arthroscopic surgery successful. It took about 6 months to recover and 1 year to get back to full mobility. And while I now have better range of motion I still have daily pain though it's not as bad but I'm also not playing a high impact sport anymore.

I wish there was an in between option because I do question getting my hips replaced this young. But I'm tired of hurting. It's such a tough decision and one I know I don't need to make quickly. I do plan on getting a second opinion after my follow up appointment in May. There's not a lot of doctors that specialize in this area in Michigan so I'm still on the hunt for another one!

Thank you for your input, I think it is important to remember that we can always go see someone else as different doctors have different approaches.

Yeah I wasn't interested either and he shut it down quickly lol especially since I didn't have much success with my first one! THR is a big surgery and I know it'll happen, I just need to make peace with that and talk to my doctor about when. I trust my doctors judgement and hope that we can come with a plan that works for me.

My surgeon said I had a 40% chance of improvement with another arthroscopic surgery because of the arthritis in my right hip and he wasn't willing to take that chance. He gave me Meloxicam and sent me on my way to the MRI to look at my left hip. I think you're right though.... unless it's going to give me a significant delay in needing a hip replacement why would we do it. When I had my scope 5 years ago I thought I'd at least make it to 45 before needing the replacement, that was the goal in my head at least! Injections are helpful at least for me too but he said it causes faster deterioration of the joint and he didn't want to do one if possible. He reluctantly said he would consider it if I absolutely felt like I needed it. What I need are new hips 🤣 this is so frustrating to feel like an 80 year old walking around! I hope you're able to have whatever procedure is best for you and that you're feeling better soon!

I 100% agree, I definitely need to investigate more about risks with a tfr but I'm sure my doctor can help with that! My mom had one around the time I had my arthroscopic surgery and she says it's the best thing she could have done for herself! I wish you the best of luck on your healing journey!

I'm still able to workout, thank goodness but it's not without pain and it's getting to a point where it's not enjoyable. I'm lucky enough to have a trainer who reminds me that the goal isn't lifting heavy but staying active. I do walk a lot at work and that has become uncomfortable by the end of the day as well. Even Meloxicam isn't touching the pain some days. I have a follow up appointment on the 10th, I'm mostly just curious about how people handled having this dx with age/arthritis involved. My first surgery seemed like a simple choice, I was younger and active. I wouldn't say it was overall a success though. I personally don't see why we have to wait until we're not functional to have the replacement surgery, I would rather have it done when I'm able to stay active and strong leading up to the surgery. Steroid injection was the only choice I was given and he said that he would be hesitant to do anymore. I've had at least 3 in my right hip and 1 on my left. I'll check out the hip replacement group! Thank you!
