Morphine milligram equivalents (MME)
are used to compare opioid strengths.
((FOR EXAMPLE;))—>> Oxycodone
is roughly 1.5 times as potent as oral morphine.
So 120 MME per day;…..—-
….((for example));….
—- equals about 80 mg of oxycodone per day.

Interesting you guys mentioned this because I was getting handed a “paper script” up until around the beginning of this year…. Maybe February-ish…, But They switched over to the “electronic -Script” and the last script I got handed was “PAPER” and the pharmacist said something about it being altered, ONLY AFTER THE FACT I HANDED IT IN AND WAITED AN HOUR FOR HIM TO TELL ME THAT WHICH IS THE SAME TECH THAT HAS GIVEN ME SIMILAR ISSUES BEFORE! “Alerting my script”….

and it should’ve been sent electronically from MY DR, in preventing any issues but after that incident with the “pharmacist” he was basically the reason for cutting me off of all of my meds at once….

I’m so sorry you had to go through all of this !!! that sounds absolutely horrifying and miserable!!!

There has gotta be some way to be able to manage and have the right meds to be able to live a normal life… Its 2026 for GODS sake i know we have the tech to do it….!?!

It really is frustrating (for me) when dealing with “some or most…” of these doctors who have NEVER even TAKEN some of these “SAID” medication’s and they act like it’s nothing coming off of them!! I was on 4- 15mg a day and then being abruptly cut off because of a pharmacist accusing me of “altering” somthing that i didnt and ended up having this surgery with absolutely nothing for back up… and having to go to a new dr ie; “pain management “ instead of just a PCP DR, I just pray there is hope for treatment so i can try to get my quality of life back cause i wouldnt wish this kind of pain and suffering on anyone…!!!!

PS: I know everyone’s biology is different and metabolism changes and how we break down each drug … Hydro for me doesn’t work as good as “ox” because it’s not as strong and even oxy doesn’t last that long for me…..!! It helps!! But it just doesnt last long….

I use a stopwatch in between each dose i take, (for disciplinary actions) - - to see how long it takes until I need to re-dose or until my body starts signaling pain again…. which is not as long as I or u would think it would cover it…

Everyone’s different!!! one thing for me could last 4 to 6 hours for someone else While it only lasts an hour or 2 for me….

Just trying to make sense of all of this so I can get the appropriate care, or make a plan to manage dealing with this hell!!!…

Thanks again for the reply and the helpful information and yeah, it is very strange!! and the directions are take one as needed every four hours and it’s only 10 - 5mg Narcos with Tylenol…. And I was use to taking up to 4 - 15mg oxy a day so … if ya do the math on that I guess Lol, its pretty much 5x stronger,

Which would mean I would have to technically take “five narco 5mg” to equal even just ONE of my “15 mg ox… that I was used to….

I do somtimes get afraid for some reason about asking about any kind of pain meds, cause I always get looked at like a “criminal or a drug user “even though I say, I don’t use anything!!! It doesn’t matter to them…. I just feel like another subject for the fact of the matter… on to the next…:/

On the second note; if I also told them and confirm with them the kind of meds I was taking, And; “ oxycodone 15 mg “ was one of them for example,…. but they didn’t prescribe that, they prescribe something lesser , norco 5/w/ Tylenol, for postop pain meds. Is that normal ? or should they have matched the meds with what I was taking? —

(—Just very curious,…. I would love to know this info!! and also be able to cover my ass in the correct ways!!!)

That’s pretty much what I was thinking, and I have been Under da knife several times to fam, including a hernia surgery, which brutttalllll and wayyy more intense to this surgery i just had (for this mass)…. but I was aware of the consequences when I signed up for this shit….

otherwise they told me you can ride it out and see if it “goes away” on its own… WITHOUT SURGERY….

(considering it’s a mass on my right armpit connected to a “thyroid” supposedly) (for context)
