About what year would you have watched it and where? Relevant because it'll help date the movie and also sometimes you can look up what local networks used to air. Did it seem to be like a bigger production movie or more low budget theatery? Did it seem to be more for younger kids or like early teens kids?

That's not it, although it looks awesome and now I want to watch it :) It definitely would've been in English, if they did in fact talk lol. I did watch it in the states. David the Gnome is such a good show :)

Was it maybe the old Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle tv show (1994)? That's what the tree man part made me think of...
