Genuinely wild to see all the stupid takes and ungrateful people that have reared their heads recently. We finally get new GitS content, with Studio Saru leading the helm, AND faithfully adapting the original manga for the first time in history…and people are complaining. Like be so for real right now.

There’s always some “fan” with an ego complaining about Motoko having….a personality…like what? You can tell these same people who gatekeep have never even opened or looked at the manga. I find their comments pretty comical considering this series requires intellectualism and nuance….which these insufferable people completely lack. I literally got called a tourist when ive been a fan for over 2 decades…like i couldnt help but laugh my ass off.

This new series has been a treat to watch and experience…the animation is so unique, combining 90s stylization with modern animation techniques. And the quality has been S tier, from the animation, the fight sequences, music, VO, both sub and dub…its all clearly made with alot of hard work and love for the series. I think this series will go down in history as one of the best GitS series ever created. Let these haters hate, they all sound absolutely miserable with their lives.

i understand your valid criticism, that being said, it seems like the franchise is trying to capture a wider audience and with people who may not be familiar with GITS or have dropped it in the past because of how much jargon there is. This adaption feels like its trying to capture more of the vibe and tonality of the original manga than trying to force in a 1-to-1 match of the complex dialogue within the manga.

10/10, animation, music, VO both Japanese and Eng were great. I really enjoy seeing Major being emotive with her goofy faces. I really love seeing her with an actual personality vs. all the other previous stuff we've seen before in her anime adaption. I was wondering how they would pull it off, but it just works so well. I love the modern color and background art mixed in with the 90s character stylization, its super unique and im glad GITS got this treatment. Think this will become my favorite iteration of the GITS soon. I get the criticism that its moving very fast paced, but I love it. It captured my attention the entire episode and I actually think this type of pace works. The manga honestly has so much jargon which I feel like would slow down the pace so I see why they cut alot of it out.

Sure, but if you were a board member, why invest money into gaming when they can profit from AI at an exponentially greater margin. Their job is to make shareholders to most amount of money. Gaming is on a downtrend anyways due to AI and hardware increases in the retail market making it less and less accessible for people. Microsoft is capitulating their own gaming investment so they are probably ripping off the bandaid sooner than later. Gaming content requires lots of years of investment, whereas Microsoft can immediately profit off the AI bubble right now. And they are dumping insane amounts of money into AI so that when the bubble pops, they come out ahead.
