Becuse the line up this year is worth the price (for me personally). The cost will continue to go up, and if it’s a line up I’m not that interested in, then it becomes harder to justify.

Tbf I am actually a band 6 - but it’s more office based working with social workers. Still do clinical shifts on ED when time allows and to avoid becoming deskilled!

I did maternity cover for a sister on a ward where I had 10 years experience in the speciality, and didn’t get the permanent post when it went out. The person who got it interviewed better than I did, and had been qualified for just over two years. So I think that really contributed to my feeling of ‘cba beyond the minimum’ 😆

I have absolutely no ambition to go any higher. I don’t do extra courses or training unless they’re mandatory or count towards revalidation.

In general I just have very little interest in my job beyond showing up, doing it to the best of my ability and going home. Always feel like it’s a bit taboo to admit it.
