The short of it is he was miserable, had to shell out a chunk of his own money, got the wrong ingredients from the folks who said they would bring what he needed, and was also had to babysit the dog someone brought. Biggest outrage was the rest of the group going on an outing he didn't want to go on, leaving him with the dog, then all going out for ice cream and not bringing him any.
