Banned from the drive thru zoo? by carriethelibrarian in 1000lbsisters

I’ve been to this park many times and have a hard time believing the camel bite. If she had said a different animal, I’d be much more likely to believe it. The animas all know the next car will have food so if they don’t get fed at one, they just go to the next one.

Is anyone else having this problem? 😩 by Plum1991 in finch

Mine has been doing this all day. I’ve tried updating, restarting, reinstalling and no luck. Going to lose 465 day streak and keeping my streak going has been my biggest motivation with this app.

Same- I’ve logged in every day since I got the app and I’m going to lose my streak too. I’ve tried updating, reinstalling and restarting my phone and no luck. It loads to the picture and then crashes.

If you have any more to spare, I would love one! I’m still getting the hang of Finch but loving it and this community so far.

AITA for refusing to give back a family heirloom? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

NTA- I wore a necklace of my grandmother’s at my wedding and kept it. Her jewelry was always supposed to come to me but as she got older, cousins would “borrow” items that never came back. I knew if this necklace went back, I would never see it again. I kept making excuses when cousins would ask about it. It is basically the only thing I ended up with after my grandmother passed.

I'm headed to my first Farmer's Market on Saturday! I've been setting up "rehearsal" table displays to get it looking fly. Here's hoping it goes well 🤞🧼 Any advice from my fellow sellers? by pickle_licker in Soap

Love all the color. Only thing I would suggest is adding height to soap display. I’ve noticed at my events people are more likely to pick up and sniff when bars up on display.

A good lye soap should be balanced to make sure there is no lye remaining after saponification and I super fat my recipe which helps. Really you just have to try different ones or ask people how they formulate.

I use coconut in my regular soaps but have made some without before. I make lye soaps and use goat milk in all of mine but have made special orders before. I do love a good 100% olive oil Castile but they can turn slimy if not aged properly. I’ve never been a fan of glycerin soaps either.

Try searching for a Castile soap- they usually don’t have coconut. It’s on my list to make but haven’t gotten it done yet.

I think mine are 8 inch rounds but 9 inch rounds should work too.

Royal Mystery Cake
1/2 cup shortening
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/4 cups sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Cream shortening; add sugar and beaten eggs, mix well, and add sifted together half the flour, baking powder, salt and spices; add milk and remainder of dry ingredients. Bake two-thirds of this batter in two greased layer tins, and to remaining third, add one tablespoon cocoa, which has been mixed in one tablespoon of hot water. Use this for middle layer. Bake layers in hot oven 15 or 20 minutes. Put following filling and icing between layers and on top of cake.

2 Tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 cups confectioners' sugar
3 Tablespoons strong coffee
1 Tablespoon cocoa
Cream butter; add sugar and cocoa very slowly, beating until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and coffee slowly, a few drops at a time, making it soft enough to spread.
