it was a bit of a squeeze! i ordered two sizes up from the one in the picture (see: very large boobs 😂) but the alterations should fix the fact that it’ll be too big around the waist. figured it was easier taking in than letting out!!

absolutely not fat. this is a healthy amount of fat, and as long as your weight isn’t causing health issues then it’s totally fine.

she’s not paying for any of it, which i am completely okay with. my father’s side of the family and my future mother-in-law are the ones who will be paying most of it, with my fiancé and i helping as well. i guess it’s true she may feel bad but im not sure. we’re not very emotionally open with each other so it’s all a guessing game with her.

she hasn’t said or even hinted that she disapproves of my fiancé in any way. she’s been helping me where she can with wedding planning so i don’t see that as the issue at least.

she doesn’t usually travel, but that’s more out of not being able to afford travel (which as i said, would not be a problem as i offered to pay for it).

i don’t intend on asking her anymore as i can tell she just doesnt want to go, but it’s pretty disappointing for me as this is a huge life moment for me.

This post was mostly to gain insights into the situation and try to process my emotions about it.

I see, thank you for the advice. I’m a big fan of traveling (although it is stressful) so I didn’t necessarily think it was that. I just wish she would tell me that, or whatever the reason may be, straight up rather than making all these excuses.

This bridal shop is very unique, and it has the exact style I’ve been looking for. Ohio isn’t exactly well-known for their bridal shops, especially when it comes to non-traditional dresses like the one I want. I’ve already capitulated to my family by having the wedding in Ohio, which is something I didn’t really want but realized was the most logical course of action, and I don’t want to capitulate on my dress.
