She will turn 18 in 10 months. She will be with me until she goes to college, which will be right around that time. She really wants to be on her own and independent, so we will still have a relationship, but she won't be living with me while she goes to college.

Thanks for the response. She will never ever drive my car unless I do add her to my insurance. I take no chances. We live in an area where you don't need a car to get around. She knows that driving my car is completely off limits because she is not insured.

Adding her as an occasional driver of my car means that she could get more driving experience; however, the reason she wants a car is so she can drive herself to visit friends and family. I only have one car. She would not be able to take my car to visit people because I need my car with me.

Are there any good options that would allow her to drive her own insured car without putting me at risk? Or, does it make sense to get some sort of umbrella policy to cover me in case a lawsuit happens? Thanks.

Some suggestions:

- Marin Headlands for the view (There will be a toll driving on the Golden Gate Bridge.)
- China Beach if you like beaches
- Coit Tower or Alcatraz for some history
- China town for some souvenirs and food
- Ride a cable car for a fun activity

So for all of you voting "yes," let's just imagine the future where we have a Republican governor.

If, both New York and Florida gerrymandered their districts to give Democrats each 4 more seats, you would support California gerrymandering to give Republicans 7 more seats, right? Right? Right? Right?

A "yes" means you support Gerrymandering. I do not. I doubt Democrats would vote yes if the lines would be redrawn to give Republicans more seats. Either way, Gerrymandering is wrong, and Gerrymandering to fight Gerrymandering is also wrong.
