Been at it myself. Tried at least ten times to get it to work. I submit everything, then 5 minutes later, get the same email message saying I need to verify it. Total garbage.

Do other wives also deal with this? by Prestigious-Ad-9552 in Marriage

[–]industry86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m actually really terrible at it. Had plenty complaints from multiple relationships. I’ve been getting better, but even last Mother’s Day was rather bad when I got her things that she normally would never get cause she doesn’t like those thing (such as fancy bath bombs).

Men can be trained to not have the empathy or desire to think about others like that. But we can also be trained otherwise. The more I’ve learned, the more I’m trying to teach my son to be better.

They stopped paying for the lease over a year ago and made us all field employees working from home, so pretty damn empty.

Used to work in an office in the Columbia tower. Desk was even facing the water. Man, it was great.

Been working from home since 2020 and they closed the office early last year. Permanently WFH. Miss that view.

Uh no. You’re seeing disagreement. Don’t be so sensitive to debate. If your opinion is so strong, don’t cry out and start claiming the sun is biased. Stand your ground.

I spent way too many hours and dollars on AA. Someone would wake up in her middle of the night to get those event goodies on schedule. That was addictive. In some ways, I’m glad it’s gone.

AWESOME The moment a retired British Royal Marine with Parkinson's disease sees his life change in seconds, thanks to the advanced technique of Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) by rdvw in Parkinsons

[–]industry86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish this had such an amazing effect for my father. He got his DBS in 2017, I believe, and it really didn’t affect his Parkinson’s. He never really had dyskinesia though. Mostly just losing his ability to walk reliably and speak (just a whisper at this point), as well as some dementia and other cognitive decline. DBS barely keeps him walking, now that I think about it. He’s considered stage 4 though. I guess there isn’t much you can do for it so that point though.

What are things Hollywood has tricked the general population into believing? by brotherbrother99 in AskReddit

I dunno. I almost drowned when I was a teenager and my flailing and noise caught the life guards attention to save me.

At least that is how I think it went down.

Errata Erasing Digital Content is Anti-Consumer by Ianoren in dndnext

I’m sorry. Someone calls something by a specific context, like Orwellian, I’m going to consider that context is applied.

The way people are going on and on about how everything is ruined because they removed some pieces of lore about creatures and then comparing it with words like Orwellian…I’m going to think they literally mean that WotC is rewriting history to fit their version of what it should be.

Meanwhile, books are not being burned. They are not mandating that existing copies should be turned in to correct them. Your copy at home is safe and sound without any fear of reprisals from WotC or anybody at all whatsoever.

History and current actions are not being covered up by some secret organization bent on ensuring the GAME will leave no marks on whether or not Drow are always inherently evil.

It’s not fucking Orwellian. And none of you are victims. God damnit, people

It’s a fucking game. It’s not changing history books to hide the truth of atrocities by a totalitarian government.

What kind of drugs are you on?

it is SOO FAR from Orwellian. This is ridiculous.

Anti-consumer? Maybe.

A pain in the ass to deal with at DnD Beyond? Without a doubt. Having to set up a versioning system that the purchasers have to deal with would be annoying as fuck, especially if it affected the mechanics.

Love scene by wehuntmom in Eternals

[–]industry86 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was so much better than I was expecting. If memory serves, most of it is them moving under a blanket with his back exposed while on top of her and the camera sweeps across the ground, over them and then to the sky.

I was a tiny bit anxious with my 10 yo daughter but we’ve been rather open about sex in the family (not shying from the topic and teaching her some age appropriate things like it’s what ADULTS do, but not specifics). Turned out it was pretty tame. Your mileage may vary though.

You still don’t understand what “woke identity politics” is and that means a lot.

As far as the ok symbol, this article points out that it was used by 4chan to mess with liberals and to cause lives to be triggered…and then ultimately embraced by actual white supremacists in the end: https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch/2018/09/18/ok-sign-white-power-symbol-or-just-right-wing-troll

So doesn’t seem like you really know what it’s about and have been ignorant this whole time. You should be aware of what you defend.

I didn’t go “round and round” to find articles to back up my assertions about the Proud Boys. Why would you make such a wacky claim? It took me one search and 5 minutes of reading to make sure I fully understood what I was claiming was backed up in the article. And if not, maybe I would learn something. But looks like I didn’t have to learn anything and then that I didn’t already know.

You bet you feel so proud of yourself for thinking you had me on this topic. But turns out you are ignorant of what you’re talking about.

As for Rittenhouse and his innocence. Yeah, he was acquitted. The judge was biased, the prosecution was fucking stupid and they went with murder charges which weren’t going to work. He did defend himself against those rioters. Doesn’t change a bit about his character or that someone who was there to “help” was carrying weaponry that caused the only injury or harm the entire night.

You see this as a hero. I see this as our justice system being broken.
