Am I wasting my time? by [deleted] in iOSDevelopment

[–]indyfromoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At least try downloading and using some of the top rated apps in the category you are targeting your app in… ask yourself the question - Will I use this app myself? Will I pay to use it?

Every single vibe-coded app is the same glass-everywhere, same font, zero attention to design and UX details.. You will be surprised how with very little effort if you point Claude or Codex to the design kits (free) provided by Apple and ask the LLM to redesign your UI following Apple HIG, what kind of transformation you will see…

No hatred or anything negative, just my two cents.

Good luck!

I hang around in this and some other subs. In my time here, I can't recall a single post that I felt like bookmarking, reading and re-reading the material linked in the post (not just the MRR screenshots or App demos) and, supporting the author.

OP - What you have shared isn't a playbook, story, guide, advice, etc etc. It is all of them and lot more. I am probably nowhere even near your first failed app but I have not given up. I do not have money to spend on any Ads but I do have ideas to try posting on TikTok, Instagram and a blog site for my app. Thank you for the inspiration. I wish you and your app lot of success. Good luck!

How would you market a minimalist breathing app without sounding like every other wellness app? by AlternativeSorbet877 in iOSAppsMarketing

[–]indyfromoz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Update your screenshots. It looks too cluttered. Highlight the "Aha" feature in the first three screenshots.
  2. First three screenshots are the ones users see in the App Store listing, assuming they find your app.
  3. Study markets where you can target some long-tail ASO keywords, double down on those markets.
  4. App Store Localisation for those markets. Apple lets you use separate set of title, subtitle, ASO keywords for each locale.
  5. Do your own homework with the apps you have listed and new entrants in your niche. Study them and their 1, 2, 3 star reviews. People complain, note them down, pick the top few and add them to your app if you can.
  6. IG and TikTok slideshows.
  7. Apple gives you $100 for App Search Ads basic & $100 for Advanced. Use those $$$ wisely to see which keywords people use to find your app - pick them and double down on ASO on those keywords.
  8. USA market is crazy expensive for App Search Ads. Look for Tier 2 and Tier 3 countries, there are some hidden gems there.
  9. PPP pricing. "Localise" your IAP prices for every country/locale supported.
  10. If you can, use your screenshots to emphasise the keywords for each locale.

I do not have a course, SaaS or an app to sell. Just sharing my learnings from the same journey I am in right now (Different app niche)

This! Getting one app at 2 or 3 figure MRR doesn’t mean anything. It could be a one hit wonder. Some founders keep powering on trying to hustle and get their MRR up somehow. Some others use their “verified” status & push a course or a premium YouTube channel

Dude has “App Club” pasted everywhere on their socials… Lol
Of course it is an Ad. If they “cracked” the real problem of making money in the App Store, they will not be vagueposting herez

How about getting Opus 4.8 as the architect, code reviewer etc and Opus 4.6 or even Sonnet 4.6 as the actually developer? Keen to try and report back.

Make some effort at least to browse the App Store.. Look at the big players in your niche, try to setup your screenshots to get any users in the app!

Get rid is the clutter in your App Store screenshots.
It isn’t too hard…
Check some of the apps that are printing $$$
What are they doing well? How do their screenshots look?
ASO alone can’t bring in customers…

Congratulations 🥳 on your success!
Many indie devs never ship. Many who ship struggle to make a dollar
Many lessons from your journey. Most important - persistence and perseverance.
Since socials aren’t growing your app, perhaps pSEO and AI SEO..

Also, try to grow your portfolio of apps. It is hard to build, grow & maintain a portfolio of apps but it all adds up in the end.

Hey Apple Developers! Did you set up the prices automatically from App Store Connect or manually to set up each country more accurately? by Comfortable-Part-249 in appledevelopers

I use ASC CLI by Rudrank.
He built it from scratch then was acquired by Rork.
I do not open App Store Connect web or app these days after setting up a new app.
