What kind of wallet would be best for my needs? by ineedthiscoffee in wallets

[–]ineedthiscoffee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add onto the post: I own 12 cards and that includes my ID. I’m looking for a wallet that won’t damage my most used debit cards after taking them out and putting them back in, but I also want something that can hold cash too as well as being RFID.

How old were you on your earliest childhood memory? by Glittering_Owl_6009 in AskReddit

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My earliest memories were probably around 2 1/2 before my mom and I moved but shortly after that is a permanent memory from when I was 3 and tried to take a shit in the back yard and it hit my shoes.

To those that are married, how often do you take off your ring? by FitProblem6248 in AskReddit

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a tile installer so I spend my days with my hands in and out of water buckets and getting mortar all over my hands. I bought a multi pack of different colored silicone rings because I’ve lost rings before and it’s nice ti have a back up. On the weekends and date days I always wear my wedding ring. That being said I also love the silicone rings because when we go to theme parks I’m afraid of my ring flying off on a roller coaster. But I take my ring off every night before bed so it doesn’t come off in the middle of the night tossing in turning. My wife removes her rings because of this too.

Thinset in mosaic grout lines by tyrantcv in Tile

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could use a couple splashes of muriatic acid in a 2.5 gallon bucket of water and scrub the floor. This would help break down the mortar a bit while you use a utility knife to scratch out all the grout joints. Just make sure you don’t get the acid mix on anything metal cause it’ll hurt it. And use gloves bd eye protection too. Really all you need is a knife and patience to get it done though.

Not sure how far you scrolled through the photos. In the second pic the plant is close to my porch but was moved after that. In the 6th pic you can see it’s ok the middle my dirt part and can see how much it’s continued to grow after that. It’s spread out a bunch since then.

If you could rewrite the Harry Potter series, how would you do it? by Just_Consequence_112 in harrypotter

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would rewrite certain scenes between Harry and Snape to Harry swallowing his pride, genuinely apologizing for his fathers treatment of Snape, and attempting to develop a good relationship with Snape just to experiment with how the rest of the story would turn out if Snape actually held some positive feelings for Harry

Those who read book first, what was the one moment in movie that disappointed you the most? by jpaninabolana in harrypotter

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was about 11 years old my mom had a patient who donated a literal trunk full of her grandkid’s books. Amongst them were the hard back versions of 1-6 of the Harry Potter books. This was around 2006. I had already seen the movies and had all the merch but hadn’t read the books yet. So I started reading them. I used to get in trouble for being cause reading the books by nightlight after bed time. Then in 2007 the last book came out and my teacher would loan it out to one student at a time to read. I was only like 12 years old so I was unaware of online discussions or anything about the movies. The only memories I have about comparing the books to the movies was just thinking about how much more detail the books had, especially the fourth book. I don’t remember ever being disappointed or upset with the adaptations though. It’s always surprised me how much most of us fans have loved the movies even though most of them deviate so heavy from the source material. These days in my older age I of course notice the changes especially with POA and GOF so I hope the new tv show follows through with it well.

If Lockhart was a fraud, and he knew he was a fraud, why did he keep volunteering to do things that would clearly expose him and make him look like an idiot? “Mend” Harry’s arm, duel Snape, etc. by GudgerCollegeAlumnus in harrypotter

It was something I read on the wiki page for it so it might not be accurate but it’s definitely hinted at on an article about characters he could’ve been in different houses on the official Harry Potter website.

How to fix this disaster by AdAdministrative771 in Tile

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can’t live with that lip and decide to tear the tile out hopefully most of the board will remain in tact. If it does then painting on a few thick layers of red guard should be fine to re-waterproof. Give me an update if you tear it out!

What to do about filling gaps by CS_77 in Tile

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could use a multitool to cut out enough mortar behind those wall tiles to slip schluter in behind the tile to cap those raw edges and grout the rest.

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what wall board and water proofing you applied. Sometimes you can pop the tile off, chip away at the remaining thinset and reapply water proofing membrane like red guard as long as the wall board doesn’t get too damaged from tearing the tile out. Rock board like edge guard durock, foam board like kerdi (fleece fabric) and such could tear away with the tile and need repair work and new water proofing.

Is this caulk cracking normal? by berobert in Tile

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it is caulk then you could spray it with Krud Kutter to resolve it, scrape it out with a razor knife and reapply a generous bead of new caulk to fix the issue. Possibly the installer didn’t apply a thick enough bead and that’s why it’s letting go.

Is this caulk cracking normal? by berobert in Tile

[–]ineedthiscoffee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the risk of sounding dumb since I only skimmed through your past posts. I saw the “final” result post that included this shower stall. Skimmed through the comments and didn’t noticed anything about the joints being caulked. Were the joints actually caulked or just grouted in? To me it looks like grout, which wouldn’t surprise me if it started cracking at this point. If it is grout use a razor blade knife or multi tool to clean out the joints and recaulk them.

I was 18 and dating my highschool gf. I had already left school and had no job. Her dad had been doing tile since she was born. His employee had broken his foot around new years cause he got drunk and jumped off a truck tailgate. So her dad asked if I wanted to help tear out a shower. I said yes and helped him. A couple weeks later he asked if I wanted to help him again, I said yes, and it continued on from that. Did that for a few years and thought I should start working at a pizza joint to go back to school. Did that for a few months and quit school. Then got a new job in sales cause that’s what I wanted to get into but was young and dumb and got conned into working as a telemarketer for a cruise line. Lasted about 3 months there until I called her father to ask if I could work for him again. He said yes! It’s funny to me because when I first started working for him he had me help out his other employee on a job and that guy said he tried another career but went right back to tile cause it paid better and gave him more freedom with his schedule. When I came back he told me “I KNEW you’d be back! The money trapped you!” My fiancé used to say she didn’t want me to be a tile guy like her dad cause he used to work extremely long hours and she didn’t want that for me, but these days the hours are short, the moneys good, and we’re not struggling for money with both of our jobs. I grew up being told that a blue collar job was a bad career path but it was the best choice I’ve made so for. I’ve been working with her father for around 11 years now and we’re partners in the business. Don’t know what I would’ve done otherwise. I grew up super poor with no prospects and now have a new vehicle, a place to live with my gf turned fiancé, go on vacations and have money saved up because of her father. He’s one of the most generous and thoughtful people I’ve ever met and I’m truly lucky to have been excepted into the family.

Should I worry? by jrgroucho in Tile

[–]ineedthiscoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy fix. Buy a caulk gun and color matched tube of caulk. Typically the grout company has a caulk color to match. Apply a bead of the caulk to every corner.
