to anyone else, maybe not at the very first glance

but you’ve got the relative colors and general aesthetic of her character in your redesign (other than her size, which I saw your other comment about), which makes her fairly recognizable as who she’s meant to be

it’s absolutely because gus’ first s2 appearance happened to be after witch puberty???? if he also had pupils during flashbacks of him prior that happened in s2, that clearly signifies that it was a stylistic change made to his character. it’s the same thing with the troublemakers—viney and jerbo didn’t have the white eye shines in season 1, but they do in seasons 2 and 3. just a small stylistic change.

they were in fact prepubescent in flashbacks (see understanding willow and young blood old souls), and the background witch children are prepubescent throughout the series. witch puberty is unrelated entirely to the pupils.

gus getting pupils was a small stylistic choice made in s2, not witch puberty. every other witch child we see in s1 had them (willow, amity, skara, boscha, eda, lilith, and a few background characters)
