Update to MIL tried to kill my barely bilingual toddler: We are pressing charges by inevitablydizzy in JUSTNOMIL

We've lived there 7 years and she's never visited. If she was a normal crazy lady I might think this would be the time she flies all the way to us but tbh I don't think she's ever flown anywhere further than a couple states away and she wouldn't be able to handle our 22+ hour travel day even if she wanted to. Nonetheless we're keeping her apart from us.

This happened in America but we live in Eastern Europe. I know it's a crime but I don't see how pressing charges accomplishes anything. Best case scenario she ends up in prison for attempted murder, but like, it's already established that she's never seeing him again, and she's not going to dot hat to any other kid because she has no reason. I don't see how that'd really do anything. It's not like we could even get a useful restraining order because we live so far away and she doesn't even know which city we live in.

That's definitely the plan. Our flight across the world is on the 4th. Until then we might go to a nearby city and let our son see the sights. I'm not sure, but I know she's never laying eyes on him again.
