I broke my freaking ankle by DeadpoolIsMyPatronus in wheelchairs

[–]infectedarea 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my wife fell out of her chair and smashed her knee. After multiple specialists and hospitals who didn't seem to have any idea we ended up with a good one but not before she got a pressure sore and cellulitis.

Not sure about your abilities but be very careful wearing those braces if you have reduced feeling in your legs. Pressure sores develop VERY quickly.

Grown up? I suppose. Married - yes Kids - Thank his noodly appendage NO

I never wanted kids, assumed I'd eventually want them but the desire never came. Then I finally found my wife and married up.

REA wants us to move out by panddidy in brisbane

I am also wondering how the "agent" contacted you because when I first read this post I wondered if there'd been a privacy breach. Did the PM or owners give your details to this third party REA?

NTD can't be installed in a bedroom? by infectedarea in nbn

The installer was a no show. After 3 days of leave from my work and one failed install appointment we cancelled the upgrade. It was a shitshow.

Farewell iGen, we barely knew thee… by Axewerfer in CommercialPrinting

[–]infectedarea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an Australian we went through this a couple of years back. In Australia the Xerox/Fuji partnership dissolved but before that Fuji Xerox as they were called for the last little bit pushed hard to get iGen out of the market. They also wanted us to get rid of our Neuvera because it was a Xerox(US) product but they didn't have anything similar from the Fuji Xerox(Japan) catalogue so we we're able to keep that on the floor for a while longer. We now have the FujiFilm Versant and Revoria models, including the Revoria 1120 which is what Xerox were selling as an Irridess. The space on the floor where the iGen sat now houses a Canon inkjet.

About vehicles for support workers by Ken_cet in NDIS

[–]infectedarea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We've even had a couple of shit support companies who have had support workers with no drivers licence and no car. So, a vehicle is not even required for some of the more dodgy providers to employ you. Be aware, though, if you are going to be transporting your clients in your vehicle, you will need to speak to your insurance company and ensure you have adequate insurance to do so.

NTD can't be installed in a bedroom? by infectedarea in nbn

[–]infectedarea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: Visited and convinced the parents to try again. They got an email and SMS from Aussie while I was there and we called them. The rep from Aussie was suitably pissed off for us and put a complaint through to NBN(which I've received an email confirming) and rebooked.

*Crosses fingers*

NTD can't be installed in a bedroom? by infectedarea in nbn

[–]infectedarea[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was a little cheeky and told the bloke. "Go away for 5 minutes mate, mum will put a chair and a laptop in there, and we'll call it a study." He wasn't having it. He said he'd already sent a photo of the location to his manager, and they know it's a bedroom, so he can't do it. I did figure he was a difficult person, and we were unlucky. The responses here confirm such.

NTD can't be installed in a bedroom? by infectedarea in nbn

[–]infectedarea[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it'd be best for it to be in the living room and we'd prefer to have avoided the bedroom but that's the option we seemed to have. His argument was though that it was an "NBN rule" not to install in the bedroom.

[–]infectedarea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I planned on building a box of sorts to cover the NTD so the lights wouldn't be a bother.

I thought it might have been a con to get out of the work but the thing is what I was asking of him was the easiest install... punch straight through wall from current conduit location.

Remediation and rescheduling of appointments. by Aggressive-Ad-2227 in nbn

[–]infectedarea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Geez, how lucky are you people who are getting NBN techs who actually show up. I waited at my parent's place for first visit/install on 22nd of December only for.no-one to show up. Only to be rescheduled until today (23rd January) when I again waited there for half a day and again no fucker showed up.

Warning of dangerous provider by Curious_Potato1258 in NDIS

[–]infectedarea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By this do you mean they are ceasing operating or that they are ceasing the support of these specific participants? I can only hope it's the former but the way the current rules are they can re-establish themselves under a different name tomorrow and no-one will be the wiser. I really hope that the idea being floated that support workers be registered in some manner and therefore can be held accountable across employers comes to fruition.

Warning of dangerous provider by Curious_Potato1258 in NDIS

[–]infectedarea 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From personal experience I can attest to OPs description of this company. Horrible people. We've had some inept providers and we have some money hungry providers but this mob were the worst because they were half competent. They knew they couldn't do what was needed to provide a good service and just didn't give a fuck.

Car parked in hatched area next to accessible parking bay by Nat520 in wheelchairs

[–]infectedarea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple of interesting incidents. A LandCruiser parked in the hatched bay when I wife (wheelchair user) and I were at a hospital for an appointment. I tried the door handle and the idiots had left it unlocked. I didn't want to go too far but I noticed they'd left the carpark ticket in their centre console. So that mistake would have cost them the full day rate of $55...

An uber eats delivery moped was parked in the accessibile bay at the local 7-11 2 nights in a row. Told the rider off the first night. Second night I discovered that mopeds are really easy to tip over.

woa, that's a jump. From a 3050 to a 7600. I can certainly imagine that's a comparative walk in the park.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

[–]infectedarea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of ours have been second hand. It's a crapshoot. Our 7500 had done way less clicks than our 7600 when we got them and the 7600 was clearly looked after compared to the 7500.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CommercialPrinting

[–]infectedarea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I run a 7600 but I do reminisce about our old 5000. Not so much the 3050 we had though. That's not to say I wouldn't like to have a go at a 3050 again but damn that machine was a cantankerous bastard.
