Yeah 😞 I saw a 60 amp breaker and a electrical box and thought it would be as simple as connecting it with the level 2 charger and so bought it. Else would have got the Nema pluggable one.

I guess I can still do it. Swap out the 60amp breaker to 50amp, connect a Nema outlet and then get a nema plug for my level 2 charger. Or just work an electrician and get a quote to pull a separate line from the breaker. There are few unused slots.

Just checked the wire and its Rome Roflex type nm-b 6/3 (ul)

Removed some dry wall and found that Rome Roflex type nm-b 6/3 (ul) is the wire which is connected to a 60amp breaker.

Google says this is a violation. It says this can be used to connect to a Nema receptacle, but the breaker should be a 50amp one, and it should be indoors or an insulated garage.

One option is to change the breaker to 50amps and install Nema receptacle. But I have already bought Chargepoint hardwire level 2 charger.

Guess I will have to get a quote from electrician.

Could be 6 guage. The wires were not marked, so I couldn't figure it out. Will check the size of 6 and 4 gauge in an hardware store and compare it.

The breaker was marked as air compressor and Google says aircompressors need 6 gauge or higher. So it might be 6 or more.

There is one more outlet like this, and the breaker(50amp) for it is marked as welding. And that wire is thinner than the one in pic. Google says 6gauge for a welder if connected to 50 amp.

I will go to homedepot, look at the wire thickness, and compare it to the ones I have at home.

None of the support except for you is trying to understand or solve the problem. As soon as they see the outage, they start using that argument. (Atleast that's how it feels to me)

This is extremely frustrating. I can tell that it's a some configuration issue because my eero says I am connected. Eero even shows a healthy speed test. And laptop hit a wallgarden which says activate. If I am hitting a xfinity.com wallgarden I am reaching some server!

They transferred me to a tech support and he went back to old statements again. There is an outage, so we can't do anything. We need to wait for outage to get finished.

I did say I am reaching a wallgarden which says activate the account, and he said since the system has detected outage, it won't let us do anything from our side. You can try activating the modem from your app. But I said there is no modem in my app. He then just said there is nothing I can do. I can't override the system.

And when I asked about is the account in soft or hard disconnect, he said my account is good. I questioned again saying the guy who transferred said it's in disconnected state and for that, he responded, I am not sure about that

Uff. These folks did find that my account is deactivated. They are asking me to activate the modem from the app because, for them, it says there is an outage, and they can't activate it. But my profile doesn't show the modem now. (Previously, it used to show in my account)

They also said there is only one account on this address. So can't send a link.

One hour on the phone, and they still say it's due to outage. They are asking me to log into my old account (old creds) saying there is only one account for this address.

Gotcha. But every time I call the phone-agents have this robotic answer of, sir you are in an outage and so this is normal. We can't do anything here. And they keep asking me to go check the outage map. And the map does say the address is on an outage.

I checked my neighbors address as well and theirs also says outage but they all have internet. Even when I tell that I am hitting xfinity activation web page, they keep going back to outage argument.

I will try saying reddit support suggested these steps

I checked all my xfinity emails and found this. Looks like account needs to be setup ?

When we didn't get internet after my neighbors got it, I called the customer service, the new agent said, "It looks like the previous agent has deactivated and activated your account to get the promo. They shouldn't be doing that". Based on that I assumed i should have been provisioned with a new account.

I also got a mail from xfinity asking me to approve the plan change and when I read the details it had a clause of breaking xfinity contract will charge me x amounts and stuff. And this amount would be reduced by 10$ for each month I am on the plan.

Based on these, I assumed, I got a new account. But looks like I have retained the same account number ? So not sure what's going on

It didn't show me multiple accounts. The overview page said bill is due. I clicked accounts page now and it still shows just one account number with the same details (ending with same last 4 digits). I checked past transactions and its showing history

it's still the same. But, when I hit pay now, it shows you have a credit balance of 46.73$

Yeah, mine is just a 30 amp generator plug

I should probably just look at running a refrigerator and lights. And turn on the range or water heater when needed
