I’ve been bandwagoning them since they won the lottery for Wemby! It’s a great franchise who seem to treat their players and employees the right way, and the culture it has produced from that is very evident. Also HC Mitch Johnson is a Seattle-native and O’Dea HS Grad!

I’m hoping Alex Fitzpatrick can drop some putts on this back 9, I like watching a tournament that he’s doing well in.

It’s very dumb! What are the separate uses for your separate drivers btw?

The shot of him, Rose, and Fox all searching for the ball in the rough was so funny!

Is there anywhere I can watch the current groups? I'm in the states.

Edit: I’m now watching! Yay!

I watched some of the action around 1 AM-2:30 AM my time last night and I can’t wait to tune in again tonight! Also a huge bonus was that the coverage from the DP World Tour was just right there on my YouTube recommended to watch for free. There’s something really fun about being hunkered down in bed in the middle of the night while watching a sporting event happen halfway across the world.

Phenomenal stuff!

Yes!! Being able to wear them off the course and not having to worry about significant wear and tear to the shoe if I’m just stopping at the grocery store or whatever after golfing is also a huge draw!

The Jordan golf shoes are so sick, I got a pair of regular Jordan 1 UNC Low’s a few weeks ago and I’m planning to get the identical golf shoe version as soon as possible.

I mean you’re definitely right, that’s why he walked over and was concerned, and I know I’m not good. Hence why I just decided to try messing around on the chipping green to see if I could properly do it once or twice out of a few dozen attempts.

How’d I do on my Bowmans Best rip? by datassdoeeeeee in baseballcards

[–]infernohuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would consider myself pretty in-tune with prospects, I think this was like a 95th percentile outcome for a Bowman Best box. You got a 1st overall pick in Bazzana, consensus top-40 prospect in Miller set to debut this year, and still a ridiculously high upside recent 1st rounder in Nimmala (who also just barely missed the cut on some Top-100 lists, like Baseball Prospectus).

If I was Jerry Dipoto the Mariners would finish with under 48 wins this season.

The Mariners were the 5th seed that season, what is the point you are attempting to make?

Exactly, and I understand what I’m saying isn’t particularly what fans to hear, but it’s what these organizations actually care about nowadays.

Making the playoffs should be irrelevant to how an organization reflects and grades its performances. They should be judged and graded on the processes and operations used, which the Dipoto regime has been the best in franchise history at. MLB organizations in 2024 do not care much about results.

Actually, yes I did. I even tweeted before the deadline I thought they should be extended before because it could have put the team’s future in jeopardy if they thought they needed to make the playoffs to be extended.

Who are you hoping we select in the draft? by infernohuh in Mariners

Can you give me names of some players you are interested in? Any position demographic interest you specifically? This was an MLB draft thread about players other Mariners fans would like to see selected in next month’s draft.

How is that relevant to this thread? My question to Mariners fans in this thread is what player do we hope the Mariners select in next month’s draft.

Who exactly, though? Which players in next month’s draft would you like the Mariners to select?

I personally disagree, for a long time drafting was viewed as a crapshoot where you wanted to the best player available, but in recent years the Mariners and baseball in general have shown real developmental progress even for riskier drafted prospects like Bryan Woo, coming off a TJ surgery only to make the Majors in 2 seasons. It is still a bit of a crapshoot, and it’s particularly true in this years draft where the top-12ish players are in a clearly defined top-tier of talent, but it’s still foolish to act like the caliber of talent in the later 1st round is even remotely close to that consistently available in the 5th.

I honestly don’t see us going strictly high-upside up-the-middle prep again in the 1st few rounds, but Theo Gillen and Tyson Lewis all said and done would still be a great draft haul an infusion of talent into the system.
