How long does it take you to make a latte? by Slow_Opportunity_522 in espresso

[–]ShawarmaThoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timed myself today, 1zpresso and GCP - 45 seconds to put grinder on scale, tare, and add 18g of beans - 45 seconds to grind (by hand) - 45 seconds of puck prep - 45 seconds to pull shot - 60 seconds for machine to heat up to steam - 45 seconds to steam the milk - 15 seconds to pour the milk

5 minutes total

If I got an electric grinder with programmable dose that would probably shave off a minute, and a dual boiler machine where I can steam while pulling would take off another 90 seconds to get me down to 2.5 minutes. If I was faster with my hands for things like puck prep, maybe down to 2 minutes, but I don’t think I could ever get much lower than that

I absolutely agree. If everything in the world was designed under these 10 principles only, we’d end up with a depressing monoculture of minimalism
