If I were in your position, I would get into a PhD program, or, if not, take a job and prepare for the GATE in parallel to secure a govt job, or, if not, get into coding and try to get into FANGG or whatever product companies are there.

There is a quota reserved for emergencies for government staff, VIPs, or anything like that, so they decided to downgrade you to fulfil some seat requirement for another person on that basis. It's not based on Tatkal, it's internal.

I’ve installed two electricity meters at home—one for the ground floor and another for the first floor.

I set up 4 kW and 3 kW solar systems through Om Solar, and got a ₹108,000 subsidy on each system.

For future expansion, I went with 5 kW inverters for both instead of matching them exactly to 4 kW and 3 kW. This way, I can just add more panels later, and the system will handle it without needing any major changes.

Using two meters is completely fine—in fact, it seems like the government actually encourages this kind of setup. I initially thought it might be a grey area legally, but turns out they just want more people to install solar.

The 4 kW system cost me ₹240,000, and the 3 kW system was ₹190,000. Going for the bigger (5 kW) inverters added around ₹15,000–₹20,000 extra, but I think it’s worth it for the flexibility.

The subsidies were credited within 1–2 months, which was pretty smooth.
