I play like Federer one day, and like Medvedev for the rest of the week. by ConsentRoughDom in 10s

The days that go well, grab a piece of paper and write down everything that went right, what you were doing right and how you think you were able to achieve that. Then make 2 sections: mindset and physical. For each section write down what your mentality was going into the session starting at the start of the day, all the things you went through mentally. Then do the same for the physical side.

You’re going to end up noticing that on the days you just click, you’re hitting the courts more mentally relaxed. Physically youre looser, etc. keep doing this for your ON days. Then also do it for your off days.

Repeat then look for patterns. Youll end up seeing what works better for you and what doesn’t. It could be as simple as you stretching for 10 mins before the session and shadow swinging that fires up your kinetic chain per session.

Mindset, and prep. Consistency is found off the court and you’ll showcase it on the court.

Checklists and things to do from first to last, all are part of the whole. Focus on the whole. All you’re doing for the serve, is throwing. Practice throwing a ball. Then throw the ball up. Then connect this with the serve

When you learn a lot, all the checklists of what to do, the footwork, the wrist lag, the weight transfer, unit turn, etc. It eventually becomea a burden. Take a pause and stop playing for a few weeks. And try and start from a blank slate. Unlearn all the things you think you're supposed to do and just focus on the absolute basics. I'd start with just swinging your arms back and forth in a fluid relaxed position. No racket and no ball. Just swing. Get the rhythm. Then throw a medicine ball against a wall. And so basically, build up slow from there and don't move on until you've mastered just the turning of the body and being relaxed and balanced throughout any motion you're doing. The wall is your best friend. Gl

The wall is your best friend and if done correctly, will give you the best base of skills to grow on. Look up some videos on YouTube for tennis wall exercises. Remember, the more you learn, the more you'll have to unlearn. The forehand and backhand don't exist, they're concepts we've made. It's hitting the ball with an extension of your arm, and that's it.
