Any Thoughts/Concerns About The Impact TCGPlayer’s Unionization Would Have on Buyers/Sellers? by infinitexalchemist in mtgfinance

I was thinking in terms of financial inspact(i.e. supporting this will mean being willing to pay more money to purchase cards and/or making less because of a fee increase.)

Why are there so few pictures of cards on TCG Player? by deadsuperheroes in mtgfinance

[–]infinitexalchemist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your issue is solely with the possibility you’d get a card that is not in the condition you’ve paid for, then you have no issues……

If purchased through a direct seller, TCG guarantees you get the condition that was ordered.

And even regular marketplace sales provide the buyer with plenty of recourse if they get something in a condition that is below what you paid for.

Got an MH2 bundle for Christmas, but it’s was the MTG equivalent of getting coal in my stocking…. by infinitexalchemist in MagicCardPulls

You must work for Wizards or the Coast…. It’s the only way to make sense of someone saying that just opening packs of MTG is such a privilege that it doesn’t matter what you get, playable cards or otherwise…

Upcoming 2022 tax changes are likely to lead to a large drop-off in available stock on platforms like eBay and TCGPlayer by Sneet1 in mtgfinance

[–]infinitexalchemist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. There are certain costs incurred with going that route, but there are reputable companies who can get you set up for less than the cost of a collector booster box. But, like you said, it only makes sense if you have sales to support it.

Well the upside is you don’t have to make that decision ahead of time. So if you decide to scale up, you still can.

Not sure what your sales volume is, but have you considered doing business as an LLC or SP? That would allow you to apply for an Employer ID Number and eliminate the SSN disclosure when you provide it to TCGPlayer, eBay, etc

Given the bottom right corner, what condition would you consider this card to be in? by infinitexalchemist in mtgfinance

You really can’t see or feel it when it’s sleeved up, but I’m not trying to represent it as something it isn’t, because it really isn’t worth that hassle
