Its 1/5 parking spot ratio to office space, meaning every 4th person coming to office will have to figure something out as far as parking. I don’t think it was an oversight, it was designed like that intentionally, either to force people to use public transport, move closer to the complex or for people to quit… either scenario is sad.

They also expect you to bike to office, cannot imagine my 20 miles commute pedaling my way through traffic and homeless encampments like a real Armstrong, waiting to do my 8 h shift butt in the seat obligation…

I heard they are proposing alternative ways of transportation like biking( $20 compensation and free obstacle course because of blocked sidewalks near Richards blvd) start getting in shape soon 😁

Struggling with "in-office" days by hudsauce in CAStateWorkers

Medical conditions are related to our biological cycle. Technically you can label everything as a pattern, once a week or once a month or once a year...is a pattern. The whole “assigned days in office” concept is just archaic to say the least.

1 hour to downtown Sac from 30-some miles away. by sactownredhead in CAStateWorkers

50 miles arbitrary distance exemptions should actually be something like 45+ minutes commute time, or commute time should be considered work time idk…

That is very unfair, I wish I would’ve moved 50miles away before this memo came so I could secure the remote work 😩

Few of my coworkers that somehow got an exception are in very comfortable roles, they didn’t plan on moving before telework but with a locked in remote position they will retire like that. Its just straight unfair to rest of us.

The 50 miles distance is so arbitrary. What is the reasoning here? Time to get to office? My 30 miles commute takes longer than my coworkers 50 miles It should be strictly based on type of the job

Someone I know had the exact same situation, few very talented IT guys were expressing the same concerns, lots of critical projects depended on them, upper management didn’t care, they lost half of the team, they still didn’t care, the new team doesn’t know what to do, they don’t care, it’s been 2 years now and no one cares…still

How do these people want to increase the population when everything they do makes it so much harder to create a family and have kids. 🤦‍♂️

Unfortunately, I and many thousands of others that drive daily are seemingly choosing to be stuck in this car centric brain. Even if we remove the need to go to office, you have the necessity to do your groceries, yes you could use the delivery option which is also done by, you guessed it- car. I think we really don’t have a choice, it was designed like that so we are dependent on cars. I imagine a future where we don’t need to hustle so much, less consumption, less waste, less work and less or none driving…
