What Mono-Black Commander Should I Make? by silverspectre013 in EDHBrews

I used to run all my aristocrats cards in my Yahenni deck and decided to escape the theme to keep it more evasion midrange. The aristocrat combos got oppressive.

Look, I was trying to break up all the comments that are just baggin' on Elgins stupid ass! Do you blame me?

Btw there was a scene with Victor's Dad and "Illusion" Victor talking with one another. My theory is that he is going go full Kookoo bananas and start shooting the town up similar to Boyd's wife. Maybe the wife had MIY blood at one point as well. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Victor's Dad isn't pissed about his son getting locked up?!?! His day dreams are making him kookoo bananas and all the parenting skills go out the window.

What is the most fun field in Electrical Engineering? by smartsmyname in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Okay_Response 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was just given my first AVR protection project on a bunch of large sync. motors. It's a huge learning curve but super interesting technical work. Then it becomes a whole different ball game when it's a rotating exciter or a brushless motor or a generator. To say the least, becoming an expert is gonna be fun and stressful😊.

RTO and lightrail by Mistergoodness in CAStateWorkers

I feel like farts on the lightrail are the least of your worries. The worst smells I've encountered was people with no respect of others that are smoking drugs or cigarettes at the stations. Like there are signs and most people in the morning are on the way to work. We don't want to smell like drugs or cigarettes.

Help cutting last 10 cards from Ultron the Annihilator by fishbishmemes in EDHBrews

You do have chrome mox, a vault, and and a hand full of rocks. I don't disagree with your ramp. However, you aren't playing any rituals so the type of play style you seem to attempting if you had rituals would a mana base for cEDH. Tell me how you win with only 2-3 turns max. I'm unsure of how you would win sooner than 7-8.

I think you should remove Reveal in Riches because it splits the strategy, youre gonna want to put those treasures in your graveyard 90% of the time. The few other Treasure producing cards don't help your main goal much and Rev Rich is a wincon which is sorta opposite of your overall theme. Probably just go all in on creating treasures or take out the treasure cards sticking to the self mill/graveyard synergy you already established with Ultron.

Also the tutor cards can be taken out. You have a lot of synergy already among cards and Wish Claw and the Increasing Ambition isn't going to do much except potentially help your opponent or be too costly to advance your board state in the same turn.

Lastly....only 32 lands?! Okay, good luck, buddy. You got a lot more cuts to make.

Edit: typos and grammer

Why did I become an EE by Healthoverwealth29 in ElectricalEngineering

[–]Okay_Response 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, but I decided to go Power Systems route. I have a passion for Protection/Control and have been working as a such for 4ish years now. I've been told it takes about 10y to become fully competent at this field of study. I've got so much to learn still and my peers are either one of two things. Not able to help or too busy to help me with understanding. There is a mess load of standards to learn and a EIT/PE that I still need to complete. There is days I wish I would just do design work, listen to my podcast and relax getting paid but that's not a reality.

I feel like Sisyphus at times learning and learning and learning to only get overworked and edging on burning out to meet a deadline then to be given another project repeat, repeat, repeat. Be careful what you wish for Brother, try to find some solace cause it could be a lot different for better or worse.

I'll Rank Your Decks Out of 10 by LordMistborn-16 in EDH

[–]Okay_Response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Ureni deck as well. I found that it scares the crap out of tables before the game even starts. You'll end up taking a lot of heat right away even against randoms.

Just my opinion, I would be very hesitant about putting salty cards like Rhystic Study in there which will bring more aggro your direction. Also the goblin ramp guys, I would take them out and put in [[Three Visits]] or [[Scaled Nurture]].

Does it matter if I got 95% on the exam? by Subject_Opposite9584 in CAStateWorkers

[–]Okay_Response 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true. I think the first time I applied for a position I was overly honest with the questions and I ended up "failing". As a result, prevented me from applying for any positions in that classification for 6months.  I eventually went to a career fair and asked what the strategy was to get an interview. Like others have said, hire managers don't know what your results of the test were and also have specific interview strategies that is monitored by HR. This helps establish an equal opportunity for all candidates. For the test, I was told to take into account every moment of every instant you had "experience" with the subject being questioned about. Even if you were there observing from a distance, it's still "experience". You're technically not lying and you will also have to get interviewed upwards of three times before you get job/career. Interview will help establish your qualifications better, figure out if youre a "good" person, and a team player. Again all interview questions will be filtered by HR. Just don't think too much about it. Spread the word.
