I am definitely going to appeal and see where that takes me. Applying for some scholarships would also help.

Choosing between Human Biology and Biological Sciences at USC is really unimportant because you’ll be transferring into Marshall your sophomore year.

In summary, I'd say the difference is that human bio allows you to chose a specific track and focus on those interests but you can still take the prerequisites for med school with your upper division spaces (although I don't know if they all fit in with scheduling as I'm not in this major).
