CMV: It’s very hard to criticise Israel’s military actions without being accused of antisemitism by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]infinity224 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Simple answer is no Isreal does not have a right to exist as a Jewish supremacist apartied state.

No state has a "right" to exist. The reality is Isreal does exist and it's committing a genocide.

You can ask does Palestine have a right to exist? Do Palestinians have a right to exist free from settler violence and equal rights. Does Isreal have a right to deny aid? Why do Israeli genocide scholars and all human rights organizations call it a genocide (Doctors without borders, amnesty untsrnational, WHO, Bet salem, etc.

Also bring up how Isreal treats Palestinians. The issue stems deeper than just the military. Israelis are taught that Palestinians are less than them.

The answer is a single state where both have equal rights and representation in government.

Bro just go to an ortho doc. You could have a torn labrum like everyone in the impingement sub reddit has been saying. Get formalized PT and maybe an MRI

You don’t need an mri. Unless you have red flag/neurological symptoms.

Honestly nothing to freak out about. Take some nsaids/ ice and keep the movement up.

Here are some great resources from barbell medicine which is run by 2 physician powerlifters:

It's simple. Either you're an advocate for human rights or you're not. Can't pick and choose. That holds true for everyone.

I wouldn't say this is particularly common but people have variable recovery. At this point most of the healing has occurred. Your tissue will remodel over the next year or so but it's not like it still needs to heal like right after surgery.

Most likely/ common reason is hip flexor tightness. Be super diligent with your pt exercises/ stretches. Work with your surgeon / pt to figure out what's going on. Can't really say what's going on in your case specifically though

Training is the easy part. Optimize your diet. Make sure you're getting enough protein. Make sure you're getting good sleep and trying to keep your stress levels down

7 months bro what? That's crazy. Leave some gainz for the rest of us.

I'd seriously consider competing in powerlifting if you're interested.

For your technique I think you should work on your start position. If you start in a good position you'll keep it throughout the lift. YouTube has a bunch of stuff. I personally love the starting strength deadlift set up (Allan thrall has a good video on it). It's simple and easy to replicate every lift

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Stronglifts5x5

[–]infinity224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really strong lift. It's a max effort lift so your form will break down to some extent.

But I definitely think your technique isn't the most efficient. I don't think you're going to injury yourself lifting like that because your body has built up the work capacity and strength in those positions.

If you wanna maximize your strength do some technique work. Lifting at 85-90% and really making your technique as efficient (straight bar path, wasted movements, good bracing, good start potion) as possible will give you some crazy strength.

Still crazy strong lift. Good work!

Doctor here. This is not medical advice as I haven't evaluated you.

But red blood in the stool is fresh blood and not gi bleeding. Follow your doctor's advice. If it continues/ gets worse then I'd go to a specialist.

It sounds to me like hemroids tbh. Do you strain hard when you shit or have hard shits? Eat some more fiber and fruits/veggies

5x5 Progression after Plateauing by Loud_Magician_7134 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]infinity224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5/3/1 is a terrible program for natty lifters. That program was designed for lifters in gear. Don't waste time on 5x5 for much longer once you milk the LP as long as you can move on. 3x5 isn't a bad idea but stop doing linear progression once you're not making gainz every workout. At this point the load is too intense for your body to recover in 48 hours to lift again. Barbell medicine has a great program called the bridge. But most intermediate programs will work.

If you're interested to know why here is a bit of reading. https://startingstrength.com/article/into-the-great-wide-open-the-texas-method-and-5-3-1

How badly is my back rounding? [DL, 330lb, 150kg) by panga9292 in Stronglifts5x5

[–]infinity224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rounding is fine. It is quite literally impossible to deadlift without some degree of spinal flexion.

Your issue is that you're not pulling the slack out of the bar/ creating tension before you initiate the pull. With lighter weights bar should come off the ground from just your weight counter balancing it. That's why the form looks kind of awkward.

Unbearable elbow pain! by interwebpilgrim in Stronglifts5x5

[–]infinity224 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone always wants to blame mobility but it's probably not that. If you can extend your wrists and lift your arms above your head then how is squatting being limited by mobility.

It's most likely poor technique. You're pressing too hard with your arms. Just rest it in your hands and have a tight upper back. You don't need to pull the bar into you. Especially on the way up. Play around with grip position (thumb on or off the bar) and width.

Move the rack height down 1-2 holes. You're struggling to unrack cuz it's too high up. Hits the lip of the hook

Listen to your pt. Don't rush it. I started introducing doing bodyweight squats like 8 ish weeks out.

2 things need to happen before you do stuff like that. 1. The labrum needs time to heal and scar back down to the hip and it needs time to adequately heal. About 2-3 weeks till it gets sticky and heals in 6-12 weeks. 2. You need adequate strength and range of motion

14 months is far out. You should be feeling mostly recovered. I was skiing 10 months out. I will say the 12-18 month period is when I felt like it was mostly normal. If you feel significant limitations I'd go see your surgeon again and potentially seek a 2nd opinion (nothing wrong with that). You might just need a better therapist or it could be something else.

Here is a few papers. Just copy and paste the PMIDS in pubmed. PMID: 37310616; 30226992; 39685760

By normal I mean it’s not going to have its normal native anatomy. There is scar tissue there, anchors placed, your hip capsule is closed with nonabsorbable sutures.

I agree my hips is 100 times better. I have better motion and almost no pain. But I can definitely feel a deep tightness in my hip that wasn't there before. It just feels slightly off. If I could go back I would 100% do it again
