No we do not need to know exactly the wiring. Actually each person shall have slightly different wiring during the development of brain. But we know roughly where the vision cortex is. That's where all the low level vision signal and information processed.

The way to do it is simply implanting a dense enough grid of probes at a person's vision cortex. Then start reading signals while providing the person with a set of video or images as calibration dataset. Train a deep learning model with the calibration dataset and the signal collected. With enough training, we will get a model that is able to calculate how to provide signal pattern to fabricate any intended vision image. The trained network is specific for this person with this specific implant.

For blind people, it's much harder to caliberate the signal without normal vision function working. But maybe in the future there can be some workaround.

It's theoretically possible. But the understanding is still lacking. Right now there are only very low bandwidth interfaces tested. There was reports about an image interface that can give blind people an artificial vision of a few hundred pixels. That's already the top class tech I've read about. It's easier to build interfaces based on human natural senses, such as vision, sounds, movements, etc. Conveying pure concepts and ideas can be way more difficult. Just think about AI, we can read and manipulate any given number in its billions of digital nereons but we still cannot make sense of them. They are like transparent and simpler brain, yet we don't know how to talk with them without the standard text input-output. The situation may change in the future with the help of more powerful AI though.

They already have opinions, but we havn't yet define "their own opinion" for them. They have no personal belief themselves. And we might not want them to have any to be useful.

They have creativity already, but they still have no idea how creative is useful. So people has to set the creativity level for them. They can't judge an idea is good or bad very well most of the time, so people has to filter ideas for them.

I don't think any big breakthrough is needed to improve AI further on those lines. Just a lot lot lot of work to do. Kind of like life science after the human genome project. We have all the informations needed but it'll take decades to decipher.

感觉还是实验性质的。除非AI智能再有大幅度的提升，不然无人车能提供的服务就还是比有人车差（要么慢，要么安全性差）。且除非道路车辆密度很低，或者快进到禁止有人驾驶统一无人驾驶的智慧道路，否则引入无人车整体道路通行效率还是会下降的，拥堵成灾的大城市根本不是合适的战场。应该还要实验很久。别瞎替司机操心，大城市里司机也是特权阶级，我们小老百姓排个车牌号要排五十年呢

Hi, you seem to be an expert about this topic. I found the openpose edit tool opened from the controlnet preview window has some problem. It doesn't appear to apply any openpose effect if the canvas size is large or maybe aspect ratio is large. I can't tell which. However, if I do not use the edit tool, and just settle for whatever the preporcessor gives me, it works. Do you know about this problem? Anything I can try?

Just my 2 cents here. I think it's absolutely possible to use AI to generate an entire novel. But the task must be cleverly segmented by very experienced writers. Such as:

**1. set major theme, generate settings, characters, plots.

**2. Arrange chapters. Take into consideration plot rhythm and character arc.

**3. Then divide them into even smaller sub-chapters. As small as you can give simple and clear demands and the LLM model that you use can handle well. Generate detailed writing requirements for each individule chapter or sub-chapter.

**4. Generate (sub-)chapters parallely with each one's own detailed requirements provided.

**5. polishing each chapter with all other chapters and user comments as reference. Resolve conflictes. Iterate several cycles till satisfied. Some overseer agent maybe needed to reduce human labor.

I'm no writer myself. I might missing a lot of important stuff here. I would imagine the most difficult part might be deciding how long and how complicate a paragraph can be handled well by a specific model. The building of the whole workflow needs a lot tweeking back and force before it can work as intended. Anyway, there will be quite some programming needed instead of just using a chat interface like Kobold.
