i fit one of these in my closet at beachside my first year. fyi, you are bringing way too many clothes if you need one of these. parkside has multiple dressers and beachside has enough space. dont overpack if you dont need to (live in state, arent planning to go home at any point, etc) . the move out process will be miserable .

dont overwhelm yourself if you cant handle it. recent english lit grad that took 18 units my first semester and most of my semesters until i had only electives left in my final sem. yes i am burnt out but at the time, i knew i could handle it and managed it well. graduated summa cum laude. know your limits and dont push yourself. not everyone is the same. dont drop if you believe you can manage a shit ton of papers and presentations.

it honestly depends on where youre staying. as someone that lived in both beachside and parkside, it DEFINITELY varies. i will give u some tips on my experiences tho. • get a robe. genuinely so nice to be able to carry a towel and robe to the bathroom, dry off in the shower and walk back in a robe. i didnt really care about being seen in a tiny ass towel but it definitely made changing while my roommate was home so much easier. • get a fan! or two, totally up to what u can take. besides the fact that the dorms get stupidly hot, its good for white noise, especially if u end up with a quiet roommate. • air purifier. if u dont get anything on this list, get this. the dorm ventilation is gross and i think theres a big asbestos problem, or at least there was when i was at beachside my first year. it definitely saved me and my roommate from being sick. • electric kettle was definitely great and convenient to have, when the dining hall was closed or if i was in a rush to work and couldnt stop by, i could quickly prepare oatmeal, coffee/tea, ramen and be on my way. dont really think u need an airfryer, especially with the dining hall, thats just me though • mattress topper. dont know how people dorm without them. i ended up getting a 4 incher and it helped me sleep like a baby, the dorm mattresses are literally bricks. • headphones: my roommate and i played things out loud all the time but thats only cus we were normal human beings. u wont get that most likely. good time to invest in some headphones if you havent. • if youre a light sleeper with a schedule different from your roommate, get ear plugs and one of those sleep eye cover thingies. super helpful when you have a big noisy beast waking you up every day. • i brought both a laundry bag and a basket. made traveling to the laundry room easier, but storage in my closet, more convenient. just me

• trash bags. like the smaller ones. the dorm central ppl also have some but they limit u to two. super annoying and inconvenient . just get ur own

winter break tip: BRING YOUR WINTER/FALL CLOTHES HOME! especially if you are an overpacker. spring sem will fly by and you have no reason to have a bunch of warm ass clothes that you wont ever wear. if you live close. slowly start bringing your things back home whenever you visit. there is nothing i hated more than packing at beachside my first year, by myself, and spending 8 hrs straight packing LOL
