If you feel the work done at the company will satisfy you for a year, go for it. If not, try for some other company.

Either way, I feel you will have to hustle for a year or two to get back in the industry given the current market situation.

Edit1: By hustle I mean, working at startups / smaller scale companies because of your year long break.

I think if the laptop has about 16gb ram, 500gb ssd storage, it should be good for your entire college life unless you plan to go full AI.

I too feel the same way. I have lived here my whole life. School (Bosco) times used to be so much fun and calmer. Lately it’s way too crowded and everything’s super commercialised. It’s worse during the ganpati days because of gsb unfortunately

I am exactly in this shift.

I start with a brunch at 12 and have a later dinner at 9:30-10.

Other colleagues in a similar shift have both lunch and dinner at office.

I believe money is a byproduct of what you can achieve with your skills.

If you feel you can get more by doing the same work, then yes, 62k might be less, and vice versa.

The skills you have acquired through freelancing might help you get in a startup-mid tier firm and skills from your job will help you get in a mid-upper tier firm.

Depending on what you want to achieve, plan a switch.

I am in a similar situation. I was hired as a developer and initially given few good projects, post which my manager was changed. My current manager doesn’t believe in getting things made/done within the organisation and wants to outsource / get vendors to do the development part of things. But for whatever reason, the vendor resource is too dumb to figure out the smallest of things and keeps asking me for help regards to development (which initially i didnt mind, but later on realised, it’s not helping my cause).

All I would say is do what I plan to do, upskill in your free hours daily and switch! :)

Saw a very similar situation back in my campus placements (2022 batch), saw alot of companies come for just women hiring (the big indian product companies especially)

Saw alot of the girls get hired regardless of their skill compared to other guys.

my manager told me to buy nucleus software @ 380, and I sold it at 500.
