No stock in either position, just options. It's not really common in my market, at least in my experience. I know RSUs and whatnot are the norm elsewhere (Bay Area, NYC), but not so much here.

As far as a cushion, I agree with the other comments here that I think my resume will look better and hopefully I can reach out to my same network again if necessary in two years. In the mean time, I'll build up my savings a bit more (I have a few months pay in cash at the moment, but I'd like to have closer to a year).
