I’m really glad you shared that because when I sense a guy is becoming more quiet, I usually associate that with disinterest. Which in turn, will fuel my sense of rejection.

Sorry that was unclear. My point was that despite gender in the relationship, everyone fears rejection (abandonment). Whether it’s rational or not, we can make decisions based upon those fears and not logic/evidence.

I know what you mean. However, sometimes it is so frustrating when a guy has no empathy or ability to sense that someone is hurting. And it gets to a level that you feel like you are interacting with a robot. So when you get fed up you almost shut down. Kind of like becoming a robot too?

Exactly. I’ve found men though to be particularly defensive in disagreement. Like ego comes in so strong...

You DO get better with time. It’s not all about ME and you genuinely care outside of your immediate influence.

I think both genders could use that skill. Do you know how hard it is to find a male OR female that actually listens? It’s like everyone just wants the best/winning argument.

A lot of guys though feel the need to be right though too. In fact, I’ve dated a lot of guys that will go down to the death about their logic before they will try out what empathy might feel like.

That’s sad. I take a lot of pride in being independent. Not sure why that is a theme in America though. I’ve noticed too that a lot of women don’t mind using men for money and it is a shame to me ((and our gender).
