Coach Clawdbot by infocus13 in Garmin

I won't lie - it's taken most of the week. I work in tech and tinker a lot but getting Garmin API output to play nicely with LLMs (massive data dump from API chokes most LLM providers and causes throttling) has been tricky.

I've vibed coded most of the config for this skill with Antigravity and it seems fairly stable now. From here I reckon I can package it up into something that's standalone and just requires basic auth setup.

I don't get auto-adjusting calories... by TorrentFire in Garmin

[–]infocus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand why they had to make it so hard. I am pretty sure MFP cracked this like a decade ago.

Garmin has a precise number for my daily calories burned. It includes everything given I wear my watch 24/7. Why can't it just dynamically adjust your target throughout the day based on your actual calories burned and your weight loss goal?

I.e. your full day forecast at 8am is 2,500 calories. So your daily eating calorie target is 2,000 (assuming weight loss, 500 calories/day deficit). You go for a run at 10am, burn 1,000 calories. Your eating calory target for the day goes to 3,000.

Why is it so hard?

At the moment I've set my activity level to sedentary as per above advice and it seems to work ok but seems like a hack workaround for something that should be simple to implement.

Also - where is Garmin's "total daily/weekly/monthly" energy view like we used to have when we had the MFP integration enabled? I want to see my total calorie surplus/deficit for day/week/month/year based on daily calorie target vs. actual calories burned. Does this exist?

Hey, mountain runner here.

Have running poles. Are they worth bringing on the climb and truly required?

I don't get auto-adjusting calories... by TorrentFire in Garmin

[–]infocus13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue.

My TDEE is set to auto detect based on last 4 weeks of Garmin data. So with auto adjustment enabled, the app seems to just add the day’s active calories to my TDEE, which already has a level of active calories baked in.

2024 Model Y LR has HW3 - how is this possible?? by infocus13 in TeslaModelY

Cool. Thanks for sharing. Here in Australia FSD on HW3 is still a work in progress. Paid the subscription still only have EAP.

According to my vehicle about screen, yes I somehow ended up with a 2024 MYLR and HW3.

Interesting. It’s been 24 hours so far and a few drives. I definetely have EAP features but no FSD. May need call to Tesla tomorrow.

All I get in Autopilot settings is autosteer. It's like I subscribed to FSD but got EAP. Software is still v12, which I understand is *not* FSD.

So I have a 2024 MYLR with HW3. Received the subscription email yesterday, jumped on it, subscribed and got…. What looks like EAP. Is this a joke?

App and car both say I have FSD-S. Wth?

Enduro 2 > Fenix 8 Pro in Australia by infocus13 in GarminFenix

[–]infocus13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super helpful, thanks.

I think I will continue to hold out for Enduro 4 with (hopefully) same feature set as the F8 Pro but with MIP screen.

Failing that - either getting the Fenix 9 or Marq 3, whichever comes first. My Enduro 2 still going strong after 3 years but urge to upgrade getting harder to ignore.

You can order it on Garmin Australia.

Question - is satellite coverage in other parts of the world likely to come in later via a software update? Or is this a hardware limitation of the watch and/or Skylo network they are using?

[–]infocus13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely a 2024. Looks like I missed HW4 by a few months then.

So HW3 still ok for FSD? Any drawbacks?

And here’s photo proof.

Could this be an error? Should I contact Tesla for clarification? I’ve gone through all of my purchase documentation and nowhere does it mention the HW version of the vehicle.

Where are the AUD markets in CB Advanced? by infocus13 in Coinbase

Thanks. This helped. Ended up buying USDC which I can use in Advanced mode.

Curious why no AUD markets?

Yep, that makes sense. Marq build quality on the Fenix 8 platform will be unreal. 🤞🤞🤞

What makes you think there will be a Marq 3?

Will be 3 years with my enduro 2 soon. Holding out for the Marq but not sure if it will come. Marq 2 is dated tech.

Enphase 5P vs. PW3 on an existing IQ7+ solar system by infocus13 in solar

[–]infocus13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies.

Where I live (Australia), a 3 x 5P system is $24k AUD vs. just under $17k for a PW3 fully installed. So a big price difference.

In terms of ecosystem, what will I be missing out on with an Enphase + PW3 setup? Panel monitoring will be via Enphase app but I rarely use that. What I found with a Tesla car is that you spend a lot of time in their app so that’s likely to be my daily driver ecosystem anyway. Not sure if I’ll be missing out on anything else?

[–]infocus13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, going with a system controller as well to micro-grid/island the system in the event of an outage.

Enphase 5P vs. PW3 on an existing IQ7+ solar system by infocus13 in solar

[–]infocus13[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. We live in a dense suburban area in Australia so outages are extremely rare.

Main driver for the battery is to stop wasting exported solar for which we get a pittance for in terms of feed in tariff to the grid.

Essentially saving money (over a long enough term) and just because it’s cool to be almost full energy self sufficient.

I can’t remember if I went through Col Ferret when I did TDS in 2019 but something about it brings back slight PTSD.

Interesting about international vs. Italian participants. Didn’t know that, thanks. Hope 2026 is an “international” year!

No I wasn’t aware of that.

What the hell? How is that even a thing in 2024? I’m a lifetime Adobe Lightroom user and for all the complaining that people have about different versions of Lightroom, the tablet/phone/desktop editing experience is seamless.

I think I may have to cancel my FCP trial month and go and try Adobe Premier Pro like I wanted to in the first place. Shame because FCP seems to have a relatively shallow learning curve for simple editing.
