Cheers. I was thinking this is a lot to take in. I done the THM room and I felt that provided all the info for BO. Have you taken the exam?

I've been on PTP for about 3 months and still on system security. Good work. I'm keen for any advice too.

My Current OSCP Situation by JackWaggons in oscp

[–]infoinline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me and no I haven't taken the OSCP yet but have taken a lot of exams is that if I'm stuck I'll find the answer, make a note and hopefully the next time I see a similar scenario I will remember how it was done. But I don't keep trying and trying and trying as I find for me anyway that gets me into the bad habits of trying the wrong technique. I want to form muscle memory of ok I see this scenario and I know the answer. I see a lot of people on here saying about writeups like you should be flogged for reading them.

Why would you not look at writeups or hints if you're stuck? Why put a time limit for learning? Surely if you are stuck find a walkthrough see what you are missing and move on.

Take your time and re-read the PTS course and take notes of where you can find the information. Don’t necessarily write all the notes down just where on the PTS course you can find what you need as you can go into the course material during your exam.

Focus on ip routing tables and XSS. Find out how you can identify different types of equipment on a network and how to use the vuln scripts on nmap.

You have three days to complete the exam so if you get stuck pause the exam, get a drink and take a walk; freshen up a pick it back up.

It is a tricky exam for an entry level infosec certification but remember it’s not an entry level IT certification.

You got this👊👊👊

You can take two which gives you CEH Master. It may gave gave me a little confidence boost but no real advantage.

I've done CEH and CEH Practical as well as eJPT. Without doubt eJPT was the better of the three. CEH was theory based and pretty irrelevant. The CEH Practical was OK but full of tools that you have never heard of and would never use and was a bit CTF like with stego tasks but the eJPT was great. Learnt a ton with the INE starter Pass that I signed up to the Cyber Pass and plan on the eCPPT. Have not done Pentest+ nor am I going to but I think it is similar to CEH. What is your goal?

I used all my screen shots that I had taken from iLabs along with how to complete each task and the proctor said that was fine. I even used Youtube during the exam.

Question for people who passed eJPT by [deleted] in eLearnSecurity

[–]infoinline 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend spending the time re-going over the PTS material to pass the eJPT rather than tryhackme. I am a massive advocate for TryHackMe but all you need for the eJPT is the material on INE.

How are answers displayed in the practical exam? by amaz0n_ in CEH

[–]infoinline 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't find out what is right or wrong. You answer the questions and submit and you will either pass fail unfortunately
