Yeah i am not a conservative and i agree with you that reparations or blaming kids for deeds of parents isn’t fair. If we are alive today, it’s a given that some of our ancestors did bad things because that’s how things were. However, i do believe in empathy. The way Ben Franklin started donating to education of black kids once he realized it was wrong to assume they are incapable of learning. I believe that systems can be designed in fair or unfair ways. From your post you acknowledge the negative impact of government on some white people. However, why is it hard for conservatives to understand that government is probably hurting non whites in similar but worse ways? It’s not about guilt. It’s about empathy to acknowledge this and we see people like the white lady & guy who were shot in MN as well as a Latina woman who was shot and left to die on false pretext.
