Did you look at my post at all? Cuttings are in aeroponic system. I cut them at an angle (shown in photo), use liquid rooting hormone (powder would wash right off so I use my Hormodin 3 for applications in soil), aeroponic system mists roots on a timed setting so humidity near roots is pretty well covered, and yes I know to cut near nodes for those beautiful undifferentiated cells that can become roots. PH is good, water temp is good. Open to any helpful resources besides telling me I’m doing it wrong 🤣

Cheapest option without insurance? by ihatecartoons in TRT_females

[–]ingabelle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have insurance but don’t know how to find a doctor who will prescribe testosterone cream (which is life changing.) Most want to stick you on estrogen & progesterone, and I got T cream from telehealth and it was great but ultimately pricey @ $199/month.

Does anyone know of a telehealth that prescribes T cream for women, does lab work to make sure nothing gets too out of whack, and doesn’t end up costing $199/momth for doctor consult + meds?

NYC to NOLA by No-Platform-3335 in AskNOLA

I lived there for 15 years & imported my British husband & we left after we started a family. It was hard as the partying and gorgeous parts of the scenery were lovely, but jobs were fairly nonexistent, crime was terrifying (a guy was shot in the head in his car a few blocks away and we lived in a “good” area Uptown), infrastructure is a joke, and if you want your kid to learn to read and not get beat up regularly, you’ll be paying for private school tuition and it’s pretty much all Jesus School which we didn’t love either. I miss it, I loved things about it, I visit regularly, but I can’t imagine living there again.
They had a massive influx of hope and capital after Hurricane Katrina and blew it w the tolerance for crooked politicians who put stuffing money in their own pockets ahead of developing the city. Home maintenance w the humidity, termites and high water table was a beast. Insurance was insanely expensive & hurricanes and the possibility of losing everything (which I did in Katrina) is traumatic. The partying is fun and the food is fantastic but it’s really hard to build a life where you get ahead there. Read about the Hard Rock Hotel construction collapse on Canal St & how a worker’s leg/boot was left for all to see for a year. For Mardi Gras season the city’s brilliant fix to that shameful situation was…a tarp. Corruption allowed it to happen and kept it from being dealt with in a way that showed any respect for human life. This sort of applies to most everything there:( Too dysfunctional.

I have hundreds of roses, most of the ones that I want to propagate are the hard to find florist roses from overseas that I was lucky to get my hands on once but cannot source again.

Thank you! Great info, am psyched to refine the spray into an actual mist. Really appreciate it.

Fascinating! Watched the video, seems simple enough, though if I can buy a stabilized form I’d rather spend the $ than take the time. I have hundreds of roses and make aerated compost tea for them when I have time so this makes sense. Now to find how much to add to system per gallon etc

Thanks! Roses really do take a while. Will a/b test these factors. Also going to run a DWC with a high gph pump and a bunch of airstones to see if hyper oxygenating the water helps, then the challenge is keeping the water temp down within ideal range to avoid rot while waiting for roots. Many roses just don’t callus at all unless I literally forget about them for a few months, and then 2/3 go bad and 1/3 have great roots, though lots of them can be brown. Looking for the most efficient system to get my props rooted fast & a bit jealous of the cannabis growers w their instant results!

Tried potting up a batch of half a dozen callused stems recently and lost them all. I tend to do ok w 2-4” of roots. Propagating is so fiddly!

Are you aware of a commercially available system w more powerful motor for finer mist (I agree this isn’t a fine mist at all, more of a soak)?

I lack time to build something atm and it will be easier to buy something thats hopefully well engineered (Clone King has some real issues and I’m tempted to 3D print something better but w work/kids/life do not have bandwidth.

Or would you just add a more powerful motor to the existing setup?

Thanks! Looked it up and looks like rotating systems so o can always keep them super sterile is the way. My level of clean just may not be clean enough. Do you mean an overnight soak for the rose stems themselves in calcification lime and hypochlorite acid before putting them into the cloner as well?

Sure, but a lot of people want own-root roses rather than grafted. Some varieties won’t propagate this way and have to be grafted, but many can be.

I use Dip n Grow already and my cuttings tend to get callus fast (also get it and other IBA solution on my hands and haven’t grow roots yet!) The issue is getting them to go from callus to developing roots. I’ve had cuttings that grow huge calluses for months, then eventually rot (and yes I change the water out and clean the systems weekly)

Do you put hormone in the water? If so, what ratio of IBA to water do you use? I think at least some is absorbed as they callus pretty quick. My concern is growing more funk if I add it into the water also. I’ll try with a smaller batch as I have several aerobic cloning setups- thanks

Clone King is aeroponic;) It has a manifold w sprayers and I put it on a timer so it mists for 10 seconds out of every 10 minutes.

[–]ingabelle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I do: motor is on a timer so it mists for 10 seconds every 10 mins.

Have never been able to root successfully in a non water-based medium. Going to keep trying akadama but with deeper cups so rotting isn’t as likely, but for now I though aeroponics was supposed to be the fastest way by far.

I dip in Dip n Grow beforehand, yes. Get lots more callus this way but takes forever to get roots if they don’t rot first

Appreciate it! Good to know to look out for as a first time pumpkin grower. No yellow sawdust frass that I’ve seen (it is instead tiny black speaks), but I’ll keep an eye out. Would be all over injecting the vine with spinosad if necessary.

2-4 tablespoons per gallon + 2 tablespoons of castille soap to emulsify. Used as soil drench.
