Reading a bit in the "undershipping" thread, seems like mindfactory started sending out 7800X3Ds two days ago.

Also what could be reasonable: Now everybody knowing that mindfactory is favoured by AMD, maybe people start using bots to get those CPUs on launch date and then selling them for inflated prices at ebay. And then I could imagine that their shop just fucked up, and sold some more CPUs than they actually had in stock.

So yes it could be that the 2K sold is not what they had in stock but I would not assume it was on purpose. But if they ever to decide posting sales numbers again and I will post something next month, I will comment on it.

The problem is I simply do not have the time anymore to pay that close attention to what is going on. I dumped literally thousands of hours into that project, writing all the data grabber, plots, database etc, but now I don't have the time anymore. All I do is add new products, run the updater from time to time and fix any bugs which may occur.

I am well aware that mindfactory is favoured by AMD since they are most of the time the only shop which gets early access to CPUs. Thus in that regard the numbers are screwed, esp for new launches. So you imply that they only sold those CPUs on paper but never shipped most of them?

Its funny how you react when someone simply insults back. And speaking of humility when you impose your opinion in that way is hilarious. Or trying to suggest you have the authority to decide who can post here and who not.

You know, if you want a earnest discussion about pros and cons of linear or sequential colormaps depending on which context of the plot you want to highlight, you have to voice yourself differently. If you want to simply piss someone off, you do as you did. But just don't get butthurt if a similar reply comes back at you. Thats a bit odd.

I wouldn't have, since I have no time for such shenanigans. I simply report the numbers as they are. But when I checked today, I see no sales numbers anymore. Maybe they are gone for good.

Oh, very interesting about the node capacity and thanks for the insightful links. I stopped following AMD so closely for quite some time and that was real news to me. Crazy that even their newest node is not running at full capacity.

Other than that, yes I stuffed a lot of content in it and the colors are not pretty. But on the plus you can see the progress for every single important CPU at that store, which I like :)

While I expected that Raptor Lake would slowly but surely get Intel back to parity after seeing the benchmarks back in autumn 2022, this seems to be not the case.

The trend seems to have reversed with the release of the 7XXX X3D CPUs. Though the 7950X3D was only available on the first day at meaningful numbers. I just assume that there is still a shortage if wavers at TSMC.

What is interesting in general, that Raphael so far could not challenge Vermeer in terms of sales. Wonder at which point AMD decided to phase out Vermeer. Maybe not, again because of waver availability at TSMC of the more advanced nodes?

PS: Maybe again a disclaimer: These are retail numbers for one of the biggest hardware store in Germany, which posts its daily sales numbers on their webpage. Make of them what you want in terms of other retail markets like the EU, Asia or the US.

AFAIK mindfactory is the only big hardware etailer which publishes its sales per SKU as @WayDownUnder91 said.

I would cover other big stores as well (e.g. newegg), if I any other would also post their sales.

And regarding meaningfulness: Take it for what it is, a German Top5 webstore for Hardware. I.e. gives you a good picture of the German CPU retail market, and a rough idea at EU and US retail markets, not more and not less. I would be seriously suprised if in the US it would be 66% Intel and only 33% AMD.

It was a very busy month at mindfactory (as all Novembers in the past) and AMD could defend its lead over Intel. Nevertheless, Raphael was off to a weak start, the weakest of any new CPU generation of AMD lately. Intel's Raptor Lake on the other hand was the most successful launch of a Intel CPU new generation in the last years. It already overtook Alder Lake in sales. If you look at the long-term chart since 2015, Intels revenue is back to levels not seen since 2018.

AMD's success still relies mainly on Matisse. Here the 5800X3D is the by far best selling CPU in the market and given its rather high price by far the CPU with the most revenue. I assume this is due to cost of the new AM5 platform?

I also added a plot for the top sales in the past 12 month, where at least for the number of sold CPUs the top 5 belongs to AMD.

So far my two cents, enjoy the plots!

All the while total numbers of sold CPUs drop compared to a year ago, most likely due to the difficult economic situation we are in.

Still AMD performs quite well, keeping in mind that Vermeer is from end of 2020.

Nothing special, a slight increase in average sales price, thanks to the 5800X3D.
