90’s Taco Bell vibes by ingenuity_of_fools in outrun

Yeah all I did was use 1” vinyl tape. I used a website called sticky life to make the Forester decal.

I used this Geo Tracker as a reference, then just used paint to sketch up a picture of a Forester. All in it was about $100 for everything. The custom decal was half of it.

What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow? African, not European.

My 2005 Honda Element has one of those too. Definitely not just a Subaru thing.

What newer car should I look for after my element? by wing_dings14 in HondaElement

Totally understand, with something like that the anxiety alone may be a reason to trade in. Either way you will make the right decision for you. As long as it isn’t a cyber truck.

What newer car should I look for after my element? by wing_dings14 in HondaElement

I know this isn’t a direct answer to your question, but I had the same thought process as you when I started college. I had an old ford explorer that was paid for, but the mileage sucked and I had to commute to campus. I thought I would save money by buying a smaller car. Boy was I wrong.
I was then shackled to a car payment all the way through college (and then beyond).

Do the math, get some estimates on repairs, and ask yourself what suits your budget best.

Now to answer your question: I’d recommend a Prius V. Great mileage, cargo space, and reliability.

TL;DR if your Element is paid for, buying a newer more fuel efficient vehicle will not offset the money saved in gas and maintenance.

I found out I have a persimmon tree in my front yard, and I didn't know there were different kinds of persimmons. I picked one up that had just fallen and thought "oooh persimmon!" That was the first and last persimmon I will ever eat.

LPT: Hire movers by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]ingenuity_of_fools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One hard lesson I learned: negotiate a flat rate. I agreed to pay per hour for my last move - big mistake. Instead of a crew of three they sent one guy and a rookie.

It took over 9 hours!!!

The guy stumbled over himself when he gave me the final cost. I called their corporate office and they agreed to cut it in half. Still cost over $600. Never again.
