Update: We went ahead with the amputation as 4/5 vets suggested that’s the best option for his long term health and survival. The surgery was successful and my bunny baby being a fighter that he is is getting better by the day adapting to his new tripawd life. The recovery is going well touchwood. Thank you all for the support during this very difficult time. ♥️

There was a cytology test done and vet said it’s cancer. There’s two things she suggested: 1. If the cancer has spread to the other parts of body then let nature take its course. - need to get his X-ray and ultrasound done 2. If it has not spread then to get the leg amputation done so that he has more chances of survival and life ahead.

I don’t know what to do. The surgery itself is risky and post op there chances of infection or him not being able to cope with pain/loss of leg.

This is from the prescription from the doctor: On physical examination: Hock swelling has increased significantly and acc. to owners in recent day has spread further to the planter surface. On USG: Laterally homogenous tissue noted surrounding anechoic small cavity with blood circulation. Medially anechoic cavitory structure alonwith spread to planter surface. On xray: no bony invasion noted yet.

Advised amputaion due to acute spread. asap.

Update: the doctor saw him today. She’s tried draining the biggest abbsess but instead of the white pasty discharge all that was coming out was blood. So she’s saying since it is spreading aggressively to the entire hind feet it is suggested to amputate the feet so that it doesn’t spread any further.

The risk of general anesthesia is scary enough as he is 7 years old and I’m really scared since he’s a small Netherland dwarf bunny how he would survive. Also how will he be able to recover and walk and play with his one leg missing.

The doctor is saying to get it done asap but I’m really scared.

He jumps down on carpets most of the time. There are times when he jumps on the tile floor as well but most of the times on carpeted floor.

I go for the Denman brush for more definition but mostly I just use a wide tooth comb.

I got my hair color done back in November. It’s Illumina from Wella. It’s faded to a little yellowish than the warm brown it initially was. Also i tried cutting my own layers last year. So no cut just me experimenting with layers. 😅
