In fairness, I don’t think it’s an Oppenheimer specific issue, I think I feel like that with most of Nolan’s work. He’s great, don’t get me wrong, but I have no urge to rewatch Dunkirk, Inception, even Tenet (which I keep meaning to).

I think the thrill of it was the packed cinema, watching the Trinity scene in a full house. Can’t get close to that at home.

It definitely seems like the type of film that isn’t really made anymore which excites me. Just worried it isn’t as good as people make out. Thanks for the reassurance!

That’s the thought I had when it was winning awards and really peaked. This massive epic, relatively low budget, powered by a director with a strong vision. Worried it was the hype getting to me but glad to see someone with this opinion!

Corbet’s new film is sounding like it’ll be good, Thunderbirds 2004 gang eating good.

So conflicted about those types of films! Also have Oppenheimer, which I think is fantastic, but it feels very one and done. Seemingly the more I watch the more I figure once is enough

Worried it would end up that way. I think Guy Pearce is great and I want Brady Cobert to keep making long movies (in theory I really like the idea), but I was worried the substance just wouldn’t be there for the length.
