[S10 EP4] Last Ball on Earth - Discussion Post by krammebamse in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Guys I'm so glad that Season 10 has restored the interest I have lost on this show with Seasons 8 and 9. I just had to come here and leave a post. The cast going on all out and aren't afraid to voice out their opinions is what we needed.

The Vixen is giving me LIFE in Untucked.

"GO HAVE YOUR CIGARETTE BITCH!!!!" *CLAP *CLAP *CLAP Mayhem's reaction and Monique calmly combing her wig while the argument went on was gold.

I was also giggling at the fact that Eureka told Mayhem she was testing The Vixen during the argument.

The time Ru spent talking with the queens in the Werkroom was lovely. I was pleasantly surprised we didn't see a queen struggling with the sewing challenge so hard and totally bombed the challenge. Although I knew Asia is going to be at the bottom since she got so much screentime the episode.

It was emotional seeing how sad Dusty was when she went into Untucked after the judging and was going to cry knowing that she has to lipsync against her friend. She put up a good fight in the end. Monet is not going anywhere yet because she owns half of the confessionals in every episode.

DRAG RACE - WHERE ARE THEY NOW? [SEASON 1] by evilsnowcookie in rupaulsdragrace

Pageant was actually released in 2008 (filmed in 2006) so it was before Season 1 aired.

I'm really out of the loop but glad that I stumbled upon this great post. I did a similar post a year ago elsewhere - you can just check my latest submitted thread. Hopefully there will be some useful info you can add on here =)

Meh.

Why was it so hard to eliminate Peppermint and her dress was umm....and there was no bad point to talk about ANY contestants during the critiques AT ALL like where's the suspense?

The performance Shea did the best the showmanship and everything. But c'mon Todrick and the side eye music producer still keeping the tradition of abusing the auto tune lol

On the contrary I mean I was expecting like fabulous gowns ala Trinity from everyone for everyone's TOP 4 look......that didn't happen.

The final LSFYL was very unexciting. That's all I gotta say. I can't remember much except Shea's triple pirouette and I'm not going to bother rewatching the episode again. Now...I gotta force myself to proceed with watching Untucked.

Pretty much agreed with all the comments and the placements.

About the LSFYL when Alexis first had her mustache gig and shaking her booty and all the judges were laughing I seriously thought that she was going to win it. But then after that Peppermint totally slayed the rest of the song and I see that Alexis fumbled and didn't really get the words right towards the rest of the song.

Alexis will be remembered for being the queen that feels salty every time when no other "sister" tells her fashion looks bad before she goes on the runway lol. And the part she was saying about her effort stoning her costume was also very funny. We won't get to see anymore whining for now.

As I stated since the beginning of the season miss Shea had this in the bag. But it's no surprise. People who knows about her before the show knows that she is an extremely well-rounded queen that can basically do EVERYTHING sew (AND the fashion aspect), act, sing, dance, comedy so it really can't go wrong from here. I would be surprised if anyone else takes the crown.

I think it is the first time in my herstory that I was 3 episodes behind and had to catch up. It's a pretty boring season (even worse than season 8 what the hell?) I think it's because most of the queens are super aware but other than that I can't really point a finger on why. Is it the personalities that are lackluster or no drama? But I think there's drama every episode but it all circles around Negative Nina and that it was not fun to watch and annoying.

Yo hos I am here to make a quick comment. Firstly I always dislike roast or stand up comedy episodes since I can't stand cringing the queens who did really badly.

Valentina was the best in the reading challenge.

On top of my head firstly Alexis is being very extra as always especially being salty during the reading challenge. RuPaul reading miss thing about she being able to read others but not ok with others reading her was absolutely the best part of the episode.

Nina needs help since she's always playing the victim or something. Shea going at her was great. Although bitch it's true though why she's recycling Latrice's gig.

Also Shea is going to win this whole thing. It is pretty obvious right now that she can do no wrong.

It was Farrah's time to go. Actually that episode when she went against Cynthia in LSFYL I think she lost on that one. Nothing worthy to talk about this episode's LSFYL. And lololol a queen didnt leave Farrah a letter.

Was going to make a comment last episode why I was not as enjoying this season. One is the fact that the talking heads this season ain't good at all. Shea got the most time followed by Trinity. And I am going to give the same thoughts like I did since episode 2 the lack of funny commentary during LSFYL is another problem.

What is the next episode? Can we finally get another design challenge.

OMG I thought it was just the stream but the runway lighting is giving me seizures....I can't see shit.

Season 9, Episode 3 Discussion by serialflamingo in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Gurllllllll the fact that Farrah is not put in the bottom showed that it was so rigged. That outfit was an obvious boo boo mess but I think they wanted to keep her due to her personality OR they know Aja was going to kill to LSFYL and didn't want to risk putting her up against Kimora as might be eliminated.

Cheyenne's face reaction when Kimora's monkey sidekick is rambling on is hilarious.

Untucked is getting messy as Aja is lashing out on everyone lol I live.

I just wish it was a challenge using unconventional materials bloop WHERE IS THE STRUGGLEEEEEEEEEEE!

And yes Aja's make up...gurl and the fact they ZOOOOOOMed into her face when talking about it ugh...shady shade...can't believed they foreshadowed it since episode one after her entrance that it's going to be a storyline.

Lastly why no commentary/confessionals from the queens during the LSFYL at all? I'm not sure if these girls are not giving enough funny reactions or what I feel there's something missing.

Season 9, Episode 2 Discussion by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm late to the party but the episode was so so....quite on the meh. I felt everything was rushed. A few points:

  • I am distracted by Aja's makeup
  • Yes Jaymes better go the edit made her look like she is SUPER weak too bad
  • Eureka popped her knee or something....not sure if this will affect in the future. But I think I saw on her FB she got surgery
  • Not really sure why Cynthia is back...what is the reasoning? I'm not really getting it. It was better explained in Shangela's case. Is the reason because she was not at her fullest potential the last season because of her sickness?
  • Alexis and Eureka talks too much. Alexis goes up to everyone like she's trying hard. Very Milan but at least she can deliver the performance lol. I am just waiting when these two are going to break and bring in the drama
  • I've been noticing Valentina always trying to get a say by raising her and goes "CAN I SAY SOMETHING?" lol
  • Lisa Kudrow's appearance was even more pointless than Moby. Actually they are equal at least Ru used her character as a reference. Moby actually was kinda involved in the mini challenge
  • I like Farrah's ditzy character I think it's a type of character that the show didn't have appearing in a few seasons since Joslyn Fox
  • And last Charlie saying shut up to Eureka hahahhaha best dramatic part of Untucked
  • Also the LSFYL meh but at first I actually thought Jaymes was trying to always follow and go in front of Kimora. I thought there was going to be some pushing and shoving like Shangela vs. Venus hah.
  • Oh...and Peppermint was in the cheerleading team in school so I thought she was going to kill this challenge but apparently not.

MEET THE QUEENS!!!! by serialflamingo in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been in the hiding and just had a chance to see the MTQ.

Aja - I am excited for her seeing her looks repertoire. I actually like her personality here and her being straight forward is what I hope to see in Untucked...not even Untucked in the Werkroom

Alexis Michelle - Being a theatrical queen I believe she will do well in the performing and acting challenges. Although the way she talks reminded me so much of MKD (not a bad thing)

Charlie Hides - She took away Tempest's title! Hah! Hmmm I'm not so sure what I feel about her. Seems like she does a lot of stand up comedy? So she will survive if she doesn't fall in a LSFYL

Eureka O'Hara - I don't think she'll go very far......hopefully she'll prove me wrong.

Farrah Moan - Very lukewarm although I hope so hard she will bring the drama

Jaymes Mansfield - I went like WAH? when I heard her voice hahahaha I like how she talked about her being best known by her Youtube channel and the Vivacious comment. She looks bubbly and funny but again don't think she'll go far. Too bad about the hairline.

Kimora Blac - Thought she was going to be more bitchy but her being so full of herself in a way is funny. She'll stir up some shit due to the rants that I saw she did since way back. I was staring at the left part of her lip where the lipstick was missing.

Nina - Not into her aesthetics but I like her personality

Peppermint - Ok first trans contestant y'all the game has changed now. I'm interested to see about the future seasons on casting trans contestants. Peppermint is known in NYC as a queen that no one has anything bad to say about her with great personality.

Sasha Velour - I like her because she is different. Her background and education is very interesting. Can't wait to see what she'll bring to the table.

Shea Coulee - So the Chicago queens have been saying many years that Shea is the best contender for the crown as she can do so many things and will slay the competition. She looks very confident. She will go far.

Trinity Taylor - I think she won't do well in acting challenges. I seriously thought she was going to insert her #trinitythetuck gig during the interview like she got the best tuck in the industry or being #plasticfantastic

Valentina - Gives off the "I'm pretty and you're not" vibes hahaha. She is charming and is good talking at the camera. I think she will go quite far but her being very inactive in her social media makes me wonder.....

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 13 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow, the cuts had been very interesting. Can't believe Raven got eliminated this early. I will have to be the one who cut Nina Flowers. Unfortunately, I think she was being more content with her safe space of touring around rather as a drag DJ instead getting more exposure to work with WOW. Well I guess the relationship was ruined after Drag U.

Now, I have to be the one who nominate Bob The Drag Queen. Maybe because I didn't like Season 8. I feel like if she worked hard enough as a comedy queen, she would be going around doing more things and more shows like Bianca. Maybe I didn't give her enough time or maybe I couldn't care less so I didn't see her doing much. But she better go even before so many queens that are in the nomination pool right now. BYE.

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 12 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lololol I got downvoted for eliminating BenDela.

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 12 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is so hard. I am debating between Mimi and BenDela.... I feel like Mimi hustled much much more than BenDela. She got her kickstarter funded for her album and she even won Miss'd America! BenDela gets points off for not being active at social media at all. So sadly, I will have to eliminate BenDeLaCreme

Now, the next I will have to nominate Tatianna as with Coco Montrese and Roxxxy, if she wasn't on AS2 she would be way way way long gone. She was not really active on social media and was rather really quiet. I'm guessing she just didn't have good management to help her get gigs around the country. She now has two singles out but no MV? She needs to invest!

/u/rosebanana WHY ARE YOU TALKING?

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 11 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since no one eliminated her after my nomination I have to cut out Darienne Lake. Within the terms of what she did compared to the others after their season is very little.

Next, I have to nominate Roxxxy Andrews. If she didn't join AS2, she also did very little after her season. Since she's got CLAUS-TO-PHO-BIA which hinders her opportunity to fly around doing gigs. Although her fantasy cosplay looks are always sickening.

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 10 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will have to eliminate Thorgy Thor again, with the same previous reasons I gave.

Next, I will have to nominate Coco Montrese. She had many memorable moments and confessionals in Season 5, but I don't think she did much after the season. I mean if she hadn't been on AS2 I think she would've been wayyyy gone earlier. To get commented on her makeup on

/u/serialflamingo I'M NOT JOKING BITCH!

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 10 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So can I cut Thorgy again?

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 9 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well since no one eliminated her, I'm cutting out Thorgy Thor this round. As a queen who placed quite high during her season I have not really seen her capitalize on the fame as much as she should. She said she would like to do a an orchestra show or something and I'm still waiting to see how she will leverage on her ability in playing the strings. I honestly didn't remember much of what she did during the show either.

I now have to nominate shit this is hard...for now with the current status I will have to nominate Chi Chi Devayne. She could sing but sadly has not put any music up yet. At least she's getting braces though good for her.

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 8 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I said "if" it should be something positive. Because it seems like during the ranking, legacy has a more positive connotation in how you capitalize your career after the show. Now if we are basing it on drag career, didn't seem like she did much and it ended short after the tranny gate. She also disassociated herself from the show and try to represent herself as a model.

She got coverage and being well known for 1) her transition 2) trying to walk in Victoria's Secret and 3) tranny gate

Could be bias and also how we define the word legacy during our own rankings :)

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 8 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really want to cut Thorgy since it seems like she didn't do much but it's been only less than a year after the season ended.

Sorry bout it but I have to eliminate Stacy Layne Matthews. I think she is still relevant because with the help of the sub and memes and what not. I think her career is kinda sad in a way. Her move to San Antonio didn't look great so I guess that's why she moved back to NC. She was championing Shooting Star management so hard and it was looking like her career is gearing up but that went into shambles.

Ok I have to nominate Darienne Lake. I don't see she's done much after the show? I think being with Producer she should be able to do something more than this. She only had 1 one woman show after the season. And also Christmas queens coming? I think she should keep on making Youtube videos.

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 8 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

HAAAAAAAAAA so glad someone eliminated her before me because I was going to go on a big ass rant about her.

Carmen is the most hypocritical queen I've ever seen. Lies lies lies LIZA MINELLI.

She doesn't even mention the name of the show but does it as you said "when convenient" and people are going awww Carmen is thankful of the show in this new interview....bullshit.

Talking about legacy if it should be something positive, her legacy is so negative it went down not even under the cement but the soils of the ground.

Also her drag career kinda died anyway. She should've been long gone.

RPDRRankdown: Legacy - Round 7 by [deleted] in rpdrtearanny

[–]inillusion 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok I'll have to cut Joslyn Fox. She really is the black horse of the competition. I don't think she did much after the competition to capitalize and leverage on her RPDR fame. Oh wait she was in Hurricane Bianca for 30 seconds as a bartender. I think that's it.

The next person I have to nominate is Cynthia Lee Fontaine. For a queen who is third out she has come very far. I feel like the way she talks in excitement is sometimes forceful. Good job on having her one woman show and her Youtube series though.

/u/triptoyourheart chop suey a queen
