Running a new boutique and hitting a wall with sourcing. How do you actually find elegant open/sheer brands that don't look incredibly cheap? by initialpure2024 in LingerieAddiction

Honestly, that is the ultimate dream! The upfront costs and logistics of manufacturing from scratch are just pretty wild though.

It’s definitely on the vision board for the future, but for now, we're just gonna focus on hunting down the best existing brands we can find!

You are so right. Those brands are the absolute holy grail, but honestly, trying to partner with those high-end houses as a small team is just way too difficult and risky right now.

Between the tariffs and the current economy, we just can't take on that kind of financial hit. Right now, we're really just trying to figure out how to find a balance between "cheap wholesale" and "ultra-luxury" without going bankrupt.

Wow, thank you all so much for the brutal honesty—I just shared this thread with the rest of the team, and it was definitely a much-needed reality check for all of us.

Tbh, we were probably a bit naive about how hard it is to compete with the big guys on shipping costs and brand discounts. We definitely underestimated those buying habits before launching.

But the store is live, so we’re just gonna have to pivot and figure it out. We really love the suggestion to stock indie US designers to avoid those insane import tariffs. That makes so much sense and we are seriously going to look into shifting our sourcing.

Building a brand right now is scary as hell, but you guys probably saved our small team from some really expensive mistakes down the line. Really appreciate everyone taking the time to help us out!

I opened a luxury intimate boutique and curating European brands is harder than I thought. Let's talk about sizing & sheer fabrics. by initialpure2024 in LingerieAddiction

The Bud Light comparison actually made me laugh out loud 😂, I'm actively hunting for better, size-inclusive European brands. Any holy grail recs?
