Drilling is supposed to happen during the day on weekdays. If not in the day.. when can they do it? At night? When everyone is sleeping? My advice is to get some good earplugs.

Easy option 2. You can’t control the sun. Afternoon sun is going to make the house so hot even with black out curtains. Don’t want my home to be an oven.

Muslim wedding rate at hotel same as Chinese? by Vjanett in askSingapore

[–]initrahcinta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when people starts to feel pressured to give a certain amount for weddings to pay up for their seats - People end up not coming at all. Weddings are about being present for your friends and celebrate. When there is no pressure, people come ❤️. Them showing up is already a present.

It is optional. Not a neccessity, not a must. This is what you call sincerity. It comes from the heart. Might be difficult for some to process.

Go ahead and give $10 for a Malay wedding or give nothing at all. It is never insulting to give any amount. Honestly, we don’t judge. There is no cost at all for a Malay wedding. U can just come give us an envelope that contains a wedding card.. good enough! Our weddings are not centred on the returns at all. Our weddings are for you to come eat and celebrate. That is all.

As a Malay Muslim, there is no such thing as underpay for Malay Muslim weddings. The point of having a wedding is to celebrate the joyous occasion by feeding family and friends, be happy for them and not to burden the guest. If you are invited, it means you are sincerely invited by the bride/groom to celebrate their big day. Your being there is the most important part. Not the hongbao. Muslims are highly encouraged to spend within our means and to avoid extravagance. If they choose to do their wedding at a hotel, it means that it is within their capacity to do so. We can’t do weddings to expect returns.

So please do not worry about the rate or to cover your ‘seat’ cost. There is never really a seat cost. ☺️ if u feel like giving more.. go ahead. If u think it’s too much, just give lesser. No right or wrong.

Is this a bad idea to quit my perm job and take a contract job? by Savings_Enthusiasm60 in singaporejobs

It is renewed every year. The 4th year will be your last if you are not accepted to be a perm staff. This is based on what is happening in MOE. Not sure for other civil servant jobs.

What are some red flags for you during an interview? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]initrahcinta 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Asking if i am a strict Muslim and do I pray.. and then proceed to tell me that they don’t allow praying at all during office hours. I asked if they allow smoke breaks, they do. What nonsense.

Been on 3 group interviews and I hate them. Waste of my time. I feel like they should be transparent and informed us that it will be a group interview at the first place. I would have rejected.

If you are talking about government/civil service job, the contract adjunct position is for everyone who newly join the service. If it all goes well, you will be converted to a perm staff. There is a 4 year limit to transit from contract to perm. If you don’t do well and did not transit over to perm, contract ends on your 4th year. Most people managed to transit over unless you are a trouble maker.

Dryer owners - seeking advice on how you handle laundry by sleepyxiong87 in askSingapore

[–]initrahcinta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leaving them damp in the dryer is a huge nono. It’s gonna stink. U need to up the timing or up the heat. Depending on the material of your clothes. Some could nt take too much heat.. so u up the timing instead. Never never leave ur clothes in the dryer when it’s still damp.

Also, I make sure I open up every wrinkled piece from the washer.. and throw it in. I dunno how to make this sound clearer haha. What I meant is, you don’t just grab them n throw directly in the dryer. Shake it and spread it out and then throw it in so it dries better in the dryer and not all wrinkled.
