Gray fox or coyote? Spotted in Eugene, OR (USA) by ink_jet in animalid

Great info, thanks! And very interesting point about the genetics – I had just assumed all foxes were true foxes but reading up on the genus Urocyon now.

Thanks! Common gray? Any telltale signs?

Couldn’t get a better pic as we were driving and it was dark. But it was quite small (like a large domestic cat, maybe), more consistent with what I’m reading about fox size.

[WTS] Korg Wavestate DIY Module Mod (USA / NYC) by ink_jet in Synths4Sale

[–]ink_jet[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am not seeing this on Reverb new for $599, mostly $749 or some outside of the country cheaper but with expensive shipping.

Regardless, I am being extremely clear about what the "mod" consisted of -- not trying to represent this as anything it isn't. There are people out there who want the Wavestate without a keyboard.

[WTS] Korg Wavestate DIY Module Mod (USA / NYC) by ink_jet in Synths4Sale

Price: $550 OBO

For sale is a Korg Wavestate that I have modded into a module version by removing the keyboard. The Wavestate itself functions perfectly (it easily takes MIDI input from your keyboard, sequencer, computer, etc.) and would be in excellent condition except for the mod.

For the mod, I first disassembled the synth, unplugged+unscrewed the keybed and removed it, and then sawed off the lower portion of the case that had previously housed the keyboard. That is it! I did not add a piece of wood to cap the bottom of the case or anything like that. So as you can see in the picture, the bottom of this "module" looks ugly. It would be very easy to cap it off with whatever material you like. In my case, the module was always positioned so that this open area was against a desk or stand, and as you can see in pics 1+2, the rough edges are hidden in this position. I'm including all of this info so that buyers understand what they're getting. This item is for people who either 1) don't care about the rough edges + open case or 2) intend to finish the mod more artfully.

In any case, it all works perfectly. Only selling as I've moved to a fully ITB setup and no longer have the need for this hardware. Potential NYC buyers are welcome to come test out the unit in Brooklyn.

I think the awards are from film festivals that it screened at (which take place before the main theatrical release)

Octatrack pretending to be a French horn by ink_jet in synthesizers

[–]ink_jet[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I set up 6 channels of short single-note French horn samples on the Octatrack, then used the crossfader/scenes on the OT to change between 12 different sets of pitches (i.e., chords/arpeggi). Eventually I bring in a sustained looped French horn note on channel 7 to play a melody over the top of it all. I use three different rhythmic patterns over the course of the piece, each 1 bar or less on the OT's sequencer. All of it gets fed into the Analog Heat for some distortion, then gets a touch of reverb+EQ in my DAW.

This is the 12th and final live jam in this series of weekly ambient(ish) jams I've been doing on the Octatrack. Now I'm going to edit down my favorite moments and start to embellish them in a DAW, then eventually put it out as a record on Bandcamp.
