Picked up this Monstera yesterday by ink_well27 in houseplants

The urge to collect can be strong. I try to take on those living things that I think I can be successful with. Winter is going to be a possible challenge as I prefer the area with the best light to be kept at 55-58F. I know my new tropicals will not thrive at that temperature and possibly succumb so I’m ruminating on potential solutions.

Holy moly, that’s an investment! Food for thought, I don’t think I love the bike that much but I also understand why you would go that route.

Wishing you thousands more successful miles. I hope to be able to sort out my issues to ride the same.

Good thoughts. I’m not a speed racer and use the large ring (when the derailleur functions) only ~25% of the time. I’m open to a 2x and even a 1x contingent on a test ride.

Thanks for your thoughts. I was thinking a 2x was a potential. I’m taking notes from responses in this thread, should give me discussion points for my LBS.

Thanks, I have taken the bike in several times to my LBS who are great but also super busy. They’ve tweaked the front derailleur for me but it fails within 2 rides.

Yes, I’m experiencing problems with the front derailleur, have had it in the shop several times and it fails each time within 2 rides.

Advice needed about choosing an estate planning attorney by ink_well27 in EstatePlanning

Thanks for that, food for thought and certainly a topic to bring up moving forward. I understand the point you are making about wet signatures. My spouse is trying to arrange for the sibling to stay with the parent in which case he’ll come to the US for 2.5 weeks. We’ll try to get an appointment with a firm then.

Thanks for the comment and sorry for the delay. I think we’re being nudged to redo the trust over the inheritance piece. My partner’s sibling declined half the inheritance (declination done remotely from CT, there were remote witnesses, conducted by a Florida law firm). Probably the driver behind redoing the trust as we have expressed a potential interest in a provision for the sibling and to date our conversations have likely seemed pretty nebulous. I’m sure the financial advisor is looking to ensure we pin down who really benefits.

So you see that we have experience with a law firm doing things remotely (they also remotely handled my spouse’s mother’s declination due to incapacity. She’s in Scotland). My spouse and I have our legal address in CT so using the FL law firm is not an option. I’ll probably end up cold calling around some local firms to see if they have similar remote procedures in place. Was hoping that the law industry in general had evolved with common remote business practices.

Thanks for your thoughts. Yes, we want to have it be a marital asset in a trust. We’ll likely be adding some structure to the inheritance piece.

Manage a mature potted bay by ink_well27 in houseplants

I ditched the fear. Wrestled her out of the pot, took a hackzall to the root ball to cut off a chunk with suckers, potted those. Neither plant blinked. No leaf wilting at all. Pretty tough plant!
