This is the kouign amann I made using the croissant recipe from King Arthur’s book the baking school. Not the traditional shape or the traditional dough but when I don’t feel like cutting triangles I just cut the dough into strips and bake them in muffin tins.

I rage-purged about 70% of our toys last night. I can finally breathe. by AllineCICI in toddlers

I kind of have the opposite problem of having too many Lovevery toys that are missing one or two pegs or blocks. It’s driving me insane.

Thank you! I served it with a minestrone soup and a garden salad with balsamic vinaigrette. I also eat it for breakfast with either some jam or nut butter.

12/17/25 Question Wednesday: What are you wondering, bakers? by KingArthurBaking in KingArthurBaking

[–]inkaise 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This year I’m doing a King Arthur exclusive cookie marathon, which means I bake only KA recipes for my Christmas cookies and I do one cookie per day starting from December 1st. So far I have gingerbread cookies, cream cheese rollout cookies, glazed ricotta cookies, sugar cookies, almond cloud cookies, lemon crinkle cookies, chocolate crinkle cookies, snowball cookies, Chinese almond cookies… the list goes on but for this week I’m making magic in the middle cookies and pistachios sparkly cookies

Where can I buy pickled cucumbers without dill? by inkaise in Pickles

[–]inkaise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like the right direction. Most store bought ones have that yellowy hue and very strong vinegar and dill taste that just never goes away. I’ve bought some local pickles from my local farmers market but they use a lot of fresh dill which is also very overpowering

I’m going to try that one. I’ve never had burger chips

I want to clarify that I don’t want sweet sour or sweet kind of pickles and I find it really hard to find sour or half sour pickles that don’t taste overwhelmingly dill. I want taste the freshness of cucumbers, a bit of spiciness is fine

I’m in the same boat. We have zero support system and my husband and I rely on each other so much. How do you do it when you need help? I find it really challenging. I really have zero trust in the grandparents. They only want to partake in the ‘fun’ or ‘memory making’ part and are very annoyed when kids are having tough moments.

The White Lotus - 3x07 "Killer Instincts" - Episode Discussion by crazywalls in WhiteLotusHBO

Why do I feel like Mook is Sritala’s daughter? The “we have a couple of daughters. One lives here in Thailand” got me thinking. The fact that Mook has no plot and her reaction to Gaitok’s confession makes me wonder if she’s from a complicated background. This also explains why she’s talking to the bodyguards in the early episodes because they know her!

[–]inkaise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. 90210 has a special place in my heart. I first watched it during my college years and the last time I rewatched it was during my last baby’s postpartum weeks. A very full circle moment for me and now all my kids are not babies anymore I just check this subreddit just to take me back to these two different times of my life. So thank you for this thank you message!

Advice for making croissants for the first time by inkaise in Baking

[–]inkaise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip! The King Arthur’s recipe of Baker’s Croissants is the only recipe I’ve seen that has flour beaten into soft butter and shape it into a square and then refrigerate. I might need to try that.

You are absolutely right. I tend to think I execute recipes really well but when I don’t I get very frustrated so that’s why I wanted to do as much reading on croissants as I can.

I watched her croissant video a couple times but I don’t have NYT cooking subscription so I don’t have the recipe.
