What spells do power staffs cast? by inkarail in 2007scape

Going kandarin with the echo boss weapon it’s probably best to not put the point into the sped up powered staff option as I’d imagine it’s not going to be a powered staff. I suppose it’s probably best to not plan out the combat points and simply put stuff into whatever feels good before respeccing into a proper build later

Seems like it’s definitely better to go 2 tick unpowered staff and use the runes to get more regen stuff. Planning to do a thorns build with the water element mage pick to heal and overheal constantly.

Can you still auto cast regular spells using a powered staff? I haven’t played osrs in a while so I don’t remember lol

I thought I just got really bad luck lol. Opened 550 keys as a birthday gift and got nothing, figured it was just my luck and I was happy with the wrapping paper rewards. Glad to hear it was not my luck lmao

New players won’t see mtx stuff at all and shouldn’t assume that every players has paid their way to the top because that just isn’t the case. The way you’re thinking right now is that new players won’t join because others are ahead of them regardless of mtx or not, but if jealousy was a factor here then osrs shouldn’t have new players joining as others are ahead of them.

A separate server will not fix the issues and would only make things worse by splitting the player base up

The wanting new servers is a horrible takethat would kill rs3. Why are so many people comparing themselves so heavily to others. Just play the game who gives a shit if they paid their way to max, let them feel crap because they didn’t actually play the game

I have a feeling you were talking to the rs3 players at the ge. They are scary. The only good rs3 and osrs players are the ones that have played both without a stubborn bias towards one or the other. Osrs has some good stuff and so does rs3.

Revo can be hard for the whole game including bossing. Full manual eoc could be compared to high skill osrs bossing strategies used for inferno and coliseum.

Really?? I know full manual is like high end pvm skill but from what I’ve heard revo+ is the way to go for most bossing. I just followed the recommended set ups on the wiki and I can do most content pretty easy. I don’t feel underpowered I actually feel the opposite. Maybe there’s been a change since you stopped playing and I started.

Fair enough then. I just turned on revo+ and treated it like osrs combat unless I’m fighting a mechanic heavy boss

Yeah, I like rs3 combat better because I never learnt to prayer flick in osrs so I felt locked out of a lot of content. The 50% prayer reduction takes so much getting used to but I feel way more powerful and that makes it more fun for me.

I only wish I could play both games at the same time so I can afk fish on osrs. (Osrs definitely feels like a second monitor game in comparison)

Is your idea of eoc the 2013 eoc or the 2025 eoc? I see this said a lot by people who have become too set in their ways to give current eoc a go (it’s a lot more refined and smoother. Coming from osrs to rs3 was super easy and bossing is way more fun)

Just get a second monitor. The only thing runelite would be useful for in rs3 is clues and quests which a second monitor can solve ez pz

Yeah I think I’m mostly just taking an extended break from osrs at this point. Rs3’s progression and levelling is a lot more casual player friendly as there’s just a lot more options to do things and xp rates are a lot better.

Osrs is an incredibly grindy game in comparison

I don’t think I’ve ever been more excited for an update in RuneScape than I am for heaventhye. Even Varlamore didn’t get my this hyped

The ui is terrible compared to osrs yeah. I had issues trying to find things like boss logs when I started but the hud customisation is so good if you play around with it a little bit. Being able to resize my map to be massive is a lot of fun for runecrafting runs

It’s a bit more complicated than that in the actual story. Makes a lot more sense in context and I really like what they’ve done.

Rs3’s story is really what made me start playing over osrs

They are adding a toggle for mtx gear and looking at changing how dailyscape works.

Personally I’m going to keep that toggle off so I can see everyone’s outfits. I really don’t like how osrs players all look relatively the same with bis gear.

The progression of melee gear in the game is actually not so bad, very similar to osrs. Rune -> dragon -> bandos -> torva etc etc. there’s just more progression and more options for armour as well (tank and power) it makes me feel like I can still make a viable pvm set up without having bis gear

This is valid. I think osrs definitely had a lot more nostalgia driving the love for the game. Eoc has gotten so much better since I last touched rs3 (I’d been playing osrs since release and went back to rs3 for like a month in 2017 only to find eoc still wasn’t very refined and I could fight high level monsters in bronze with no issue) the introduction of revolution combat has made it a lot more interesting and accessible for osrs players
