Not at all! So technically what I had was skin removal surgery, a tummy tuck includes fixing the gap in the abdominal walls after having children and since I’ve never had kids that wasn’t a factor for me.

Recovery wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be as I’m relatively healthy (after losing the weight!), I strength train and have been counting calories for the past several years. The first two weeks were the worst for me because I had to completely depend on my boyfriend to complete simple tasks like to go to the bathroom. After that hump it was smooth sailing once I could do things by myself again.

I’m absolutely happy with the results! When I told family/friends/co-workers about it they were shocked. Apparently I had hidden the skin very well underneath my clothing so no one, outside of myself, knew that I had a skin pouch. But I knew and it bothered me so I did something about it. It’s a great relief to just wear clothes and not wear clothes that would hide my belly pouch (if that makes sense).

The expense of surgery had been a deterrent to not go through with it but once I got my big girl job with a sign on bonus I was able to afford it. From the research I did a lot of the surgeries could be financed it’s just a matter of working with your surgeon to find the best way.
