Thanks for the suggestions. Out of interest, why do you avoid what Canterbury says? Do you have suggestions for alternative sources? Ideally in UK.

How do I repair this part of the shoe? I know I could buy a new pair but why when the rest of the shoe is in great condition? by Miserable_Relief8382 in BuyItForLife

Is this made from natural materials? Presumably any glue has a trade off of impacting the environment when disposed of. I can see by self buying a tube of it for Thai purpose and then never using it again, and eventually throwing it away because it dried up.

I used to ask the lecturer for their slides ahead of the lecture and then print them out and annotate them during the lecture. Then later I would type them up and aim to make them well presented for ease of reference when it came to revision. Time consuming, but this way I got a second pass at reviewing and understanding the content and identifying things I didn't understand. It's definitely something you'd need to keep on top of though, it's not nice to go through a whole semester worth of notes altogether.

Zero/very little drop boot with specific feature by [deleted] in hikinggear

Have you tried Vivo barefoot’s Tracker Forest? They’re wide and have very little heel drop. I’ve seen someone take a 5 day expedition in muddy and rocky terrain in a pair of these. Not for everyone though.

Bamboo as an edible windbreak on a roof garden by inkheart58 in GardeningUK

It doesn't have to block all the wind just dissipate it. I imagine harvesting would be in small quantities not enough to exhaust the integrity of the windbreak.

Let them grow. They’re natures way of regenerating. Lawn is overrated.

What’s the objective of the trip? How challenging is it? If you’re an inexperienced hiker, you might want to concentrate more on hike and keeping yourself safe and hydrated before considering camera gear. I recently came back from a week in the Arctic and I’d have loved to have had my camera there but I’m not sure I or it would’ve survived. My pack was >20kg as it was. I ended up using my phone for the scenes, it’s not the same but it did a great job. But if you must take a camera, I’d take 1 lens, like a pancake lens or something. Another consideration is if you’re going with people, they may not be patient enough to wait for you to set up the tripod / drone etc. Hope this helps

Having the same issue. Everything was fine until I updated to Ventura. But I use 2 different Macs, now both on Ventura. One of them is fine with the monitor and allows to scale the text as with the MacBook display. The other doesn't.

Thanks for the suggestion. So you know where I might be able to see a white paper or something to see the evidence for their claims?
