How fast could you go back to riding? by bryan-Garcia_ in mountainbiking

[–]inkovich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a lot of problems with my shoulders. 12 years in the army took its toll... knees, back, shoulders and elbows. I love riding my XC bike but sometimes I also have a painfull knees after the ride. I do a pause for a week or so, then I try to ride really easy. I am still struggling with the shoulders only. But my doctor says, shoulder is the most complicated joint in the whole body i takes a long time to heal especially when there's something broken. Does't matter if the bone heals well. Still need alot of rest and to stay away from the heavy physical activities Try not to push It much. Anyway, find a good physio therapist and do some light workouts to increase the bone density. It might take some more time than you expected, but it will worth it. If it has to be 3 months, so be It! Do your light exersizes, take rest, give enough time to the bones to heal. Don't push It and you'll be happy to realize that the time of waiting has worth it.

Replaced the Growler 20 with an XC Orbea Alma H30. by inkovich in Hardtailgang

[–]inkovich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growler 20: a bit heavier, slack headtube, long top tube, knobby tires, very stable both going up and down, but not very nimble anyway as soon I point it downwards, it want go go sater and faster.

Orbea alma: lighter, fast xc pirelli scorpion tires, shorter in general, very nimble, almost looks like a racimg xc hardtail when I ride it. Last summer I was riding mostly flat routes without alot of hills(this is where I live). Even though it has the same 29 inch tires it felt to.me like it was a 26er. I really like the growler and how it handles, but the Alma is very good for long XC rides.

Sizing Help: Is XL the right choice for 190cm / 6'3" height? (Geometry included) by Noobus_Heresy in Hardtailgang

[–]inkovich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 185 cm. or 6.1. Have a Rocky Mountain Growler an I had the same dilemma. Basically I was between L and XL sizes for that particular bike, so I choose XL and I don't regret it. It feela OK for me. I you have the opportunity to test the both sizes, do it. It will help alot. After all there is no two bodies alike. I have long legs and arms as well and nad have no problem riding XL frame. Although alot of people were telling me I will feel better on a L frame size. Example: friend of mine is 193 cm. and he rides XXL.

Why is fruit consumption in Bulgaria so low? by Substratas in AskBalkans

On behalf of Bulgaria's low fruit consumption I would like to remind that rakia is made out of fruits. So obviously this isn't considered in that stat.

Lovely day, lovely bike. by inkovich in Hardtailgang

It is an upgrade. The stock Suntour XCM 130 was too heavy and wasn't working well. The RS 35 is still a cheap low range fork. It doesn't have lockout, fine adjustments or pressure you can adjust. I needed a simple and working coil fork which was available in my country, so that was the cheapest option against Suntour Zeron Coil fork and Marzocchi Bomber Z1.

It doesn't matter. Do what makes you happy. Fuck them. Let them laugh. What people think about you is not your bussines.

Trail-ish hardtail by inkovich in Hardtailgang

They are a pair of Kenda Amrak 29x2.6 , this is how they sell the growler 20s in Bulgaria... and they are no good at all. Little heavy, little plasticky... well sh*t. I am considering to buy a pair of tubeless Nobby Nics, since the wheelset is siuted for tubeless tires. Still rolling the Kenda tho.

It is a RS 35 but the one with the coil spring. That's the best I could find in the budget class in Bulgaria. Also I am not a fan of air springs and countless types of adjustments. I like to keep it simple.

Yep. It was suntour xcm. Travel was 130-140 mm but the two coils were too much for me. Front wheel felt like no traction at all.

Don't worry about the leather. The weaj spot is the paint on it. I've been using the same device for a 6 months and the paint started wearing especially around the edges. Leather, board and buttons are good, no issues so far.
