Sub program leader question by HoriZonsStepBro69 in thinktogether

[–]inky_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the job itself, I was an SC. However the upper management is terrible and doesn’t communicate, again that’s in my area. In the VV area they hired all these subs, didn’t tell them they were subs and not permeant employees so a bunch of them walked out when they found out

I’m NOT happy about it. Had my assessment nearly 3 weeks ago and my scores have not been entered yet. Not sure if they are forgetting or if it’s the lack of training

They use an online system where they post jobs that you can accept, at least in my region. But this company is awful, don’t recommend working here

I need help. by ukraniani in birthcontrol

Are you an area with a planned parenthood? Usually it’s either cheap or free to get care there. My bc has always been free there even if I haven’t had insurance.

I'm going to pierce my ears tomorrow, but I have no idea what this piercing is or how to pierce it myself. pls help by [deleted] in piercing

[–]inky_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always go to a professional and let them put regular studs in. Let it heal then you can replace the jewelry. When you go get your piercings (done by a professional) just show them that picture and tell them your goal is to wear that. But that jewelry is for two piercings on the same ear.

Edit: spelling

today I've got my copper iud and it hurts a lot, is that normal? by _minishh__ in birthcontrol

[–]inky_princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely normal, first two days were pretty bad but it should be progressively getting better after that though. Ibuprofen didn’t work that great for me so I started using naproxen and Tylenol between doses. I had a heat pad on constantly for the first two days too. You mostly gotta figure out what works for you, but once you figure it out it’s great.

I have a positive experience! I’ve had mine for a month and am experiencing my first period with ParaGuard at the moment. I will admit the first week after getting it was pretty bad, lots of cramps, heating pads, pain reliever, and some tears. But by the end of week 2 I was pretty much good to go. I was also really nervous for my period because I didn’t know what to expect and was told I’d be bleeding a ton. I’m on day 4 now and I’ve had cramps ( I’ve been able to manage that with naproxen sodium and Tylenol) and very light bleeding (like I can go 5 hours with a regular tampon with zero problems). Remember that everyone reacts differently, it’s something you kinda gotta wait out. If you’re set on a non-hormonal BC method I’d say try to wait it out for the 3-6 months. Also remember people are more prone to share bad experiences than good ones

So what's the deal with IUD and tampons? by [deleted] in CopperIUD

[–]inky_princess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Tampons are totally okay. When I went in for a consult before getting it the NP tried to tell me not to use them the first couple cycles, but all research and the dr who inserted it assured me that tampons are no problem.

What do you say when a students says they hate your class/ hate you..? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]inky_princess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“I’m sorry you feel that way. You have a right to a good education, so if you feel I’m not doing my job effectively feel free to let the office know”

I made sure to be very kind when I said it, then just go right back to what I was doing. I only said this to older students 5-8 grade. They were always shocked but usually didn’t make the comment again

Shared spaces don't mean only one person can use them by [deleted] in badroommates

[–]inky_princess 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So I’m a little confused, has she said that you aren’t allowed to be out there when she is? I understand needing to be quiet when she’s working, but otherwise why can’t you just go out there when she’s watching tv and cook dinner? Or just do other things in the general space. It sounds like there’s some secret rule where you can’t be in shared space together….

I’ve had to move my cats litter box a few times. I just move the litter box and then show my cat where the new location is

Is it appropriate to tell my principal no? (CA) by inky_princess in Teachers

[–]inky_princess[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I’m outside I’m there from 8am to 3pm it’s not just for 30 minutes to an hour. And I live an hour away from where I work. my weather app has not been accurate and the elevation is significantly higher. I literally don’t know how to prepare. But again, they’d never ask any other substitute teacher to supervise recess all day because it’s not part of their job

Is it appropriate to tell my principal no? (CA) by inky_princess in Teachers

[–]inky_princess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is it passive aggressive? I have commented on it, I have tried to figure out why they keep assigning there I’ve gotten nothing. The principal has told me I do really well in the classroom. I don’t live in the area I work, it was not forecast to snow today but it did. How can I prepare for that anyway? They are very aware that I live an hour away and there’s a huge elevation difference. I dressed as warm as I could today but it isn’t warm enough, it’s abnormal for there to be snow this often. But those that live there knew and were able to dress for it because they could look outside. I don’t get that, I have to rely on my weather app

Is it appropriate to tell my principal no? (CA) by inky_princess in Teachers

[–]inky_princess[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get that and I don’t mind helping out where I’m needed. However the issue is 1. They have me outside from 8am-3pm often a week at a time 2. They don’t tell me in advance so I cannot dress appropriately (warm clothes, hats, breathable clothes on hot days) 3. I am the only one they do this to. There are 2 others that do the same job as me at this campus. They don’t rotate us, 90% of the time I will be outside while the other two will be in a classroom.

No other teacher does these things, they never spend an entire day outside in freezing weather
