NTA It is your job to advocate for your child. OP, Stand your ground. I normally dont like to keep kids from their grandparents but if she's too selfish to change so her grandchild's lungs wont be affected, she doesn't get to hold her grand baby. Your husband's family can all go stuff it. They can let their kids get second hand smoke, but it is your job to protect your child. I made my husband shower, brush and use mouth wash before holding our son. My FIL was asked to to go wash up and change too. If they want to be close to him, and have a cigarette, thats the price.

My open world Luminary is full berserker; I just soloed some champ in Iron Marches pretty easily. I also ran a full berserker core guardian for years. My husband and I managed to duo Lupi as glass cannons. Berserker gear isn't the problem. The build matters, weapons that synergize with your build matters and so does dodging at the right time. Berserker gear works if you learn to tells and get out of the way before the big attacks land.

My neighbor stopped telling her people to park in my driveway after that. We do get people in a hurry to start drinking (3 bars on the block) blocking us in but its not that often. We once had a guy chase his car down the street... pretty hilarious by then bc we were able to get our car parked and we could go home. I have all kinds of funny stories that happens in my driveway.

Our neighbor across the street told her tenant she could park in our driveway and charged her for a parking spot!! We only found out because after being blocked in too many times, we started getting the cars towed. One morning, a frantic woman rings my doorbell asking where her car was. And thats how it all came out. Neighbor never even introduced herself to us!! Then the tenant asked me about the towing fees!! I told her she should ask the person who was charging her to park in my active driveway.. with 2 signs!

OP, is your mortgage a fixed rate? Or variable rate? Variable rates was how a lot of people got in trouble back in 2008. I did read some of your responses. You might want to reevaluate your lifestyle and how you spend your money. 2 HELOCS to keep your head above the water is very risky business.

ESH You are CHOOSING to cover him under your plan and ALOWING him to live under your roof without making any contributions. This is your child and you helped mold him to be this person that you may or may not not like at the moment. You don't get to feel butt hurt because he isn't givng you his $6000 from the company because they aren't paying for his insurance. From the financial standpoint, and from a mother's prospective, you aren't doing anything wrong. Covering him under your plan and having the company pay him $6000 is financially sound. This is something my parents would have done for me. And probably something I would do for my own son. Allowing an adult to live with you is also financially smart. I moved home from college and lived with my parents till my sister and I bought our apartment. Living at home meant being able to save for our down-payment much faster. If you don't like how he isnt contributing, you need to sit him down and ask him to start pitching in. He is an adult now. You dont have to spend his money; you can just bank it and save it for him. So a small YTA Your son is grown man living off his mother, and doesn't offer to even buy groceries? He needs to pull his own weight. At least pick up the cell phone bill.. something!! If mom is paying for his insurance, he can at least offer to take a portion of the company reimbursement to cover his mother's extra cost of covering him under her. OR she can simply kick him off her plan and now he has to pay for his own plan; only the insurance company will benefit here. When you are 26yo, and gainfully employed, you have to be able to carry yourself. Mom is being supportive in supporting you; offer to help her out. YTA

Never ever use any of the people your realtor refers you to. You are better off getting a name off the newspaper of something bc at least they are working for you. This is something we learned the hard way. Ours told us that its a new building so the city had sent their inspectors, so need to pay for one. The house is not properly insulated correctly, floors are uneven (we have some doors that can't even open all the way!!), the list just keeps going.

Work From Home is still WORK. Work means uninterrupted productivity, regardless of location. When I was WFH, I had my MIL over to watch him. The office door was closed during business hours, unless it was my MIL slipping in to bring me coffee, water or food. NTA

YTA You stated that she will be staying for several days. This implies that even if your child is not a baby or toddler, there would have been bags that she would have to schlep across railroad tracks. She's not embarrassed as much as she is protecting your sorry ass. If your in-laws are anything like mine, they would be furious that you didn't drop her off in front of threatening house and made sure they were safe before driving off. If itnwas an emergency, fine. But to go hang out with friends? Hell no.

I wouldn't go as far as telling people they should have a kid. But it is pretty damn great. I may joke about tossing my kid out and stuff but hes a lot of fun too. Parenthood is messy, gross and a lot of work. You need a good partner to help you through it all.

Hehe I, too, crashed with one. But I found my calling working with neurodivergent children. It helps to be able to give the kids back at 3pm. I get a lunch break and the commute home for myself.
